Guest Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 So, i installed after a long time Fallout 4 with the intent to mod. I did it before but i have no clue anymore. Whatever i do, the skin looks f'd up. Please see my config, mods and screen shots. I am using Fusiongirl. I just don't get it. Is there maybe a switch because i don't know where these clothings from. Thank you XoX mymods.txt
Miauzi Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 What I see in the picture... the neck is "brown" - everything points to the infamous "Rusty Face" bug.
Erebea Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 (edited) Having looked closely at the image, I can see that the hands are wrong, as well as the patchiness on the legs. I'd say that you haven't installed fusion girl correctly, as usually this happens when you've not installed compatible textures. Though, the clothes you mention are a from a nevernude body replacer, and if I recall they are for cbbe. So, I'm going to say you've installed cbbe before, not fully removed it and it's conflicting with fusion girl. Check whichever mod manager you've installed your mods with for remenants of cbbe and remove them. Then check again. Also, rebuild the fusion girl body in bodyslide, I assume you've done that before. Guest Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 Well, that is what i cant comprehend. Yes, i did have CBBE before, but i deleted everything from my last install and removed it through MO2. Of course i also deleted the overwrite folder. So there shouldn't be anything CBBE there anymore. I did check bodyslides and there is no CBBE eigther. What i will do is, check every mod i had installed if there is one that has a body texture which could be. Though when i installed Fusion i chose nude, but i still got the deranged texture. Very strange but i will start from scratch again. Maybe i can figure it out and share what my mistake was.
Erebea Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 If you say that you removed everything previously and yet some part of cbbe is still present is strange. I wouldn't normally advise starting from scratch from an issue like this, but as your load order is quite small, it's probably for the best. I do hope you can get it working or find out what the issue was, and post the outcome for anybody else who might have this issue in the future.
Guest Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Well, so far, the same thing happen. I have the impression that the textures aren't there where they supposed to be. What i can say is, there is no CBBE. I selected nude for fusiongirl but still i have underwear. Like i said, it looks really like that the textures aren't where they should. So i have to figure it out and copy them.
Guest Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Here is a snapshot of what my bodyslide looks like. Everything seems normal there. Do you have to change the path for Fusiongirl in the settings of Bodyslides? To be honest, the last time i did that was a year ago or longer but i don't remember having that problem.
Erebea Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 The Fallout 4 bodyslide page has information of how to use it with MO2: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25 It also links to this guide: https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/topic/8960-slessefo4-bodyslide-and-mo2-what-to-do-with-bodyslide-output-files/
Guest Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Thanks. My impression is that the fallout4custom.ini isn't loaded. Everything works but the skin isn't loaded in to the game though in bodyslide everything is fine.
Guest Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 I came to the conclusion that i am not capable to get this working, thus no modding for me. I tried really everything, a) checked if archive is enabled in fallout4custom.ini b) that nothing overwrites fushiongirl (the only thing overwriting is a nail mod and MTM c) build custom morphs and unload them in an empty mod that is the highest priority. I mean, there isn't anything else that i can do. It seem that i always, like really always, get the same result. vanilla body textures with crocked toes. I know i had that running before but anywhere i looked, it seems that is what you should do. The skin appears to be always the same like in the image i posted. Perhaps there is something i did not think off but from other peoples problem with the same issue, i can't see where i do a mistake unless its MO2 itself. For some reason when using bodyslide, it doesn't create a folder in overwrite anymore. Hence i created that empty mod. It isn't FG because this happened with CBBE as well. So it's something deeper and i made sure if build the nude body but nevertheless it shows me nevernude anyway. Maybe i will do manual install. Perhaps that will work. And so i think it is fair to say that i am too dumb for MO2. Wow... Thanks for everyone's help., On the bright side, unless FO has some mature checkmark somewhere, at least any other mod does work. Yay... \o/ loadorder.txt
Erebea Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 I'm no MO2 expert, but when you said this: "a) checked if archive is enabled in fallout4custom.ini" how are you doing this? Are you doing it through MO2 or editing \Documents\My Games\ ? If you aren't doing it through MO2, you should be. If you are and it isn't working then I don't know why and don't think I'll be able to help you resolve it. I wouldn't recommend trying to manual install mods for Fallout 4. It is possible, but requires a decent amount of work and understanding. Stick with MO2 and keep trying. Might be worth starting a new topic with a new title about fallout4custom.ini and MO2 not working, so maybe a fresh pair of eyes can offer a solution.

I am not sure if it's me or just my computer. Well, all i can say is, i followed all the instructions for each mod. Also our guide here. What ticks me off is that i know it worked before. Like before i stopped modding a year ago. Skyrim works fine, no problem but FO4. Big problem. Like if i install CBEE it should just work out of the box more or less. I never copied anything in the background to make it work. Only when using Unique player. On the other hand, everything else works really fine. No crashes or anything remotely weird. Now i am trying it with Vortex. I am not a fan of it but hey, maybe it will work with this manager. I just haven't figured out why it is doing what it is doing. Thanks, for your suggestions and i really do appreciate it from everyone and you. If i have a little more time, i will try again. This time with CBBE then. I hate the knee.
Guest Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Ok, i think i like to reach out if someone has a guide (for dummies) that explains step by step. So this is what happened in my current load. I think that is actually funny but at the same there is something wrong. All i did was build morphs for both characters. As you see, they both nevernude, even though i specifically chose nude. Now, this maybe some glitch perhaps. The archive variable is turned on, like you suppose to do. Besides that, what can it be? I moved everything to overwrite but that didn't help. So everything seems pretty vanilla. It looks to me that something is blocking the mesh/textures. It suppose to be as easy as installing a base mod but it looks to me that for some strange reason, Fallout 4 is more difficult than Skyrim because i did not encounter problems in Skyrim. Thank you and i know this may sound really stupid. loadorder.txt
Erebea Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 There is only one mod than I can see as being an issue, but that isn't causing all the issues you are having. Looking at the nail polish mod page, that mod is only for vanilla body textures, so it is overwriting the hand texures. So remove it. You are going to have to look through the individual folders for each of the mods and look for the folllowing files: FemaleBody_d.dds - FemaleBody_n.dds - FemaleBody_s.dds. Then view them in an image editing software like paint.net and see if they are never nude or fusion girl. If they aren't fusion girl, remove them and reinstall fusion girl again. Then repeat for the male bodies dds files. https://www.getpaint.net/

Thanks for pointing that out. I'll appreciate that.
Guest Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 The hands are normal now. I assume that the nails loaded vanilla skin then. Though i haven't any other mod that comes with a mesh or skin. The only exception is diverse bodies, but i installed that just yesterday. I followed the instruction of Bodyslide. So far no luck, but i will further check if something is pulling the vanilla meshes.
Guest Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 Success. @Erebea You were right. It was a mod. I am not which one though but i went step by step in loading mods and avoided some. The result was that i have a body that works. It is amazing, I found the mod. Horizon. Sad. I have to look for some other mod to replace it. Finally \o/
Erebea Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 (edited) While I've not used Horizon, I did look at that mod but didn't see any mention of issues with body replacers. However, you might still be able to use Horizon and fusion girl with this, just make sure it loads after Horizon: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/68987?tab=description Nice job figuring out which mod it was, hopefully you'll actually get to play now, instead of just trouble shooting! Edited March 17, 2024 by Erebea
Guest Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 I am not sure if i miss Horizon. It is of course a possible solution to reverse the load order. For now, everything works and i am happy that it does. Just to figuring out what causes the problem was not easy. Lot's of starts, reinstalls etc.. Quite painful but there was something that changed or prevented for the texture to show up correctly. Here is my current mod load. I made some changes with Wyre Bash, cleaned files and that is it really. So for now i am happy. The lesson learned is, start with the body first (and some essential mods) and go from there, Step by step. I should have know probably. To hasty to want to play and then you do mistakes. Thanks again for helping me. mymods.txt
BDNelson Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 (edited) I'm running CBBE\8K Textures\3BBB as well as a couple of others. Here's my girl in all her glory, her name is Blaze... You can make it work with the right combination of mods. Edited March 17, 2024 by BDNelson
