How to change skin tone in CSE?

Hi im trying to change the skin tone of the almalexia NPC from morrowblivion from this link below. Im trying to get a skin shade thats closer to the neck seam. but for some reason when i try to change the skin shade slider nothing is happening. any ideas why? i noticed that some other mods also have this locked npc skin shade when i try to match the neck seams skin tone and im wondering why cant i change it.

Update: Its like the Custom Amalexia head is locked or something, i can morph the head but not the texture color. If I made a new race or changed an existing NPC's race to the Amalexia one, they can change skin shade textures. Still havent figured out how to change her texture skin shade. 
The image below shows that when i pushed the skin shade to super dark, the head stays the same but the body is super dark. so it looks like only the body changes shading. on further testing some NPC's in morrowblivion are the same. the heads dont change but the body textures do. i still have no idea what is causing this. (i've also tried saving and closing CSE and re-launching CSE and nope head still does not change, but the body color changed.
Update again: i've tried using the "face unlocker" mod by Quazzy and still nothing. 

Update again: found out this happens when CSE is only pulling textures from the BSA and not from the folder file path. Im writing this all down here for notes in the future. I just needed to extract the morrowing BSA file to finally edit the skin tone.

It seems that the shade is approximately selected by the keys сtrl + 1, 2, 3 or f1, f2, f3 (On the NPC ID in the editor)... - But this is not exact, and I no longer remember. But the truth is somewhere nearby.
