YogSothoth幽霊 Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 I'm having severe difficulties modding since I can't open the extracted assets (I've used UnrealPak to extract everything) in Unreal Editor. Apparently the game assets were saved using Unreal Engine 5.1.0, and this version of the engine isn't available for download and I can't open them with newer versions of the engine. If I can't open the .uassets, I can't export them, and therefore, I can't replace them with newer ones made in Blender for creating new .pak mods to place on ~mods folder. How are you guys doing it???
YogSothoth幽霊 Posted January 28, 2024 Author Posted January 28, 2024 I've managed to open the files using FModel, this video opened my mind about it 2
bahamut256 Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 When you Install unreal, you set it to 5.1 as the package before starting the installation. Don't extract with unrealpak as you will have issues reintegrating the uassets back into a .pak file. Instead use FMOD to extract the files properly then use blender to repackage them as an .fbx file, then import that back into Unreal. There is a very good guide for this for beginners here. https://github.com/KURAMAAA0/PalModding
