Wants and Fears being Broken by WW?

So, I'm pretty noobish to modding the Sims 4, and don't even really play the game all that frequently, so excuse my general ignorance on... everything. The only mods I have installed are WickedWhims and accompanying mods for it, and like one CAS clothing item. I've picked up the game again just recently after a long while to discover they apparently replaced/overhauled the old whims system with a new wants/fears system, however all my engagement with it so far in these saves has been completely busted. Wants never appear unless I have my mods disabled while troubleshooting, fears are completely random and completely debilitating, and can't be removed by the expected means (fear-be-gone potion, removing the trait, disabling the whole system in setting). 

 

What I'm getting at is that, is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there something I'm missing to fix wants and fears on modded saves? Is the system itself just incompatible with WW and best disabled if you're gonna be playing with the mod?
