zod976 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Is there any way to get hex code for npc's or items like you can in skyrim when you type /help "so n so armor" and it brings up a list of hex codes so you can add the item in?
Lodakai Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 EDIT: Here is the oblivion clip http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Console_Commands_(Oblivion)/Characters This is how it works in skyrim.. maybe it will be the same in oblivion? Try: To see the Base ID of an NPC, type in "help <NPC> 4". If the NPC has two words in the NPC's name, a quotation must begin and end the line. For example, Hadvar does not need quotations because of his one-word name, however Proventus Avenicci has two words in his name. Hadvar's information can be retrieved using "help hadvar 4". However, Proventus Avenicci, for example, does require quotations, needing the console command "help "proventus avenicci" 4" in order for his information to show up correctly. This will show a variety of ID's, under the category "other forms". There are several identifications of the type of object or NPC the ID refers to. For example, there is a Thalmor dossier of Ulfric Stormcloak. The line representing its ID starts with "BOOK:" which means this ID is not representing Ulfric Stormcloak himself. Lines starting with "NPC_:" represent an NPC ID. However, there can be multiple lines starting with "NPC_:". These are all Base ID's, however they differ and contain variants of an NPC. zod976 Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 Yea it doesn't work like that in oblivion, maybe there is a mod for it.
beta000 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Refscope can help getting the formID for any thing in oblivion if you can target it.
zod976 Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Yea that's the problem, I am looking for a way to get npc's without targetting them :/. In skyrim I can just type /help name and it 9/10 brings up the stuff I am looking for.
Poontank Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 In that case you could search a specific NPC's UESP page, the refID is found under the character's name in the profile box to the right. This ID can be used with a number of console commands like moveto player or vice-versa player.moveto, for some codes you need to bring up the refID with the prid <refID> command first if you want to manipulate NPCs 'remotely'. One example would be resurrecting a dead NPC from afar.
