JDough Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I thought it would be great to see when an upload/link on the download page has been created/updated. It happens often enough that either the package name has no proper version that would match the mod's version, some use encrypted names for re-direction to external file hosters, some have additional downloads for addins to the main mod, etc. Now and again it happens that it is not clear, which file (if at all) has been updated. Be it that I didn't follow the mod discussion thread as closely or sometimes the situation is simply ambigous. So often enough I find myself re-downloading packages just to find out that the file dates are identical to the one I already have. It is a minor inconvenience, obviously, but I'd appreciate the additional information. If this has already been suggested/discussed/dismissed I haven't found it and apologize. In that case feel free to delete the post. cheers
Ark of Truth Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Just subscribe to the download page and the system will tell you automatically when it has been updated. Besides this information is already on the download pages, right side under the author name.
JDough Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 Hi Ark of Truth, thanks for your suggestion but I dare to not agree Take the following example page: Estrus Chaurus in the information box I see: Submitted: Apr 20 2013 09:49 PM Last Updated: Today, 01:53 AM Now I check the download page where you have 4 files listed, the main version being 3.11 I check the version history maintained by jbezorg: "2013.10.15 - Release 3.11 - Added the missing control state for the butt bones." I double-check the discussion thread and no indication of an updated or uploaded new version. I suspect that "Last Updated" indicates rather any change made to the download information page - which could be as much as a simple addition/removal of a single word - rather than a change on the actual Download-Link page. To be fair, I haven't used the "Follow this file" option yet but if it is based on the "Last Updated" info, then I guess I would get notification accordingly (any change to the main page). I will test it though, just to be sure. The example above let's me wonder if any of the other files was updated (mind you this is just a random example and in this case I am sure that none of the files was updated). I hope this clarifies what I mean
