SexLab resets facial expressions even when the option is off

Hello,

Recently I started playing Skyrim again and got around to the latest SL version. Before I had the habit of using F.E.P. to set a static expression to the actors, and keep the option to apply expressions in SL off which worked fine. However, what I noticed now is that if the option is off, when the scene starts the expressions simply get reset to default instead of keeping whatever was set up in F.E.P.. Am I missing something, or was there a change due to which I would either have to dive in the scripts, or get a SL expression editor PhD?

Thanks!

I have my own mod for managing expressions and I recall running into issues with SL back when I made it as well. Note that this applies to v163 BETA9; I am not familiar with any potential newer versions and developments. This is in my notes:

* sslBaseExpression.OpenMouth, CloseMouth and IsMouthOpen were modified to not apply an expression.

I did some extra tests because I was getting expression resets seemingly randomly and FYI to anyone with the same problem, with some trial and error I figured it out. SexLab now has some logic that periodically checks the state of phoneme 1 ("BigAah") and if it is not what it expects, it resets the expressions to some default one it has. I think this is related to what the open/closed state of the actor's mouth should be according to SL, as @traison noted. So, in order to avoid messing up expressions, one should avoid changing phoneme 1 before and during SL scenes by other means such as mods or mfg console commands.
