Immersive Equipment Displays only working with unequipped weapons

I guess this is just me derping, as I haven't been able to find any accounts of the same issue from anyone else, but I've been trying to figure out what's going wrong for a couple of days now with no progress at all, and I'm pretty much at the end of my rope.

I had IED working without a hitch before the update, but since moving over to 1.6.1130 and updating my mods, IED included, I can't seem to get it working properly again.  Regardless of what I do with the configuration, my settings are only working for weapons that are not currently equipped, both for the PC and for NPCs.  If an NPC has a sword and a bow, for example, the sword will be in the vanilla position on the hip rather than on the back according to my configuration unless you get the NPC to wield the bow, in which case the sword moves to the back.  It doesn't matter whether weapons are drawn or sheathed, and scabbards move with the weapons.  Shields work fine, but I guess that's more a Simple Dual Sheath thing.  It's basically the same for the PC; any weapons I favourite are positioned according to my configuration unless I equip them, in which case they revert to their vanilla positions.

In my pre-update load order, I was using XPMSSE weapon styles, and I had IED working fine.  After 1.6.1130 dropped, I initially just updated things with the same setup, but in my attempt to get IED (v1.7.4) working, I've since reinstalled XPMSSE (v5.0.5) with only the skeleton—no weapon styles—and installed the recommended OAR IED conditions (v1.0.2) and Weapon Styles for IED (v2.1).

Any idea what's going wrong or what I'm missing?  I'm totally stumped.  Thanks in advance for your time!

It occurs to me rather belatedly that I guess I've possibly been approaching the problem from the wrong angle.  I suppose there's a decent chance it's an OAR issue rather than anything with IED itself.  I've only switched to OAR quite recently, so I don't have a great handle on it yet.  Then again, I don't have a lot of animations installed, and most of what I do have don't have anything really to do with weapons—Modern Female Sitting and things like that—so maybe OAR is a red herring.  I tried disabling my Goetia Magic Spell Casting Animations as the least-unlikely seeming culprit, but that did nothing.  Dunno.  I'm kinda just in throw spaghetti against the wall and see if anything sticks mode at this point.
