I've tried two different Marie clothing mods of yours, but both of them result in the same completely glitched/broken texture around the chest & pussy area.

Mods and skins are separate. You need to install each character skin. Please refer to this guide.

That’s an interesting approach, but I think it would require texture editing skills on par with HI-METAL to pull it off.

Since I seem to have left my texture-editing talent somewhere along the way, that’s completely out of my league...

Also, even if this were possible, I imagine the nipples and other shapes and colors of the characters using this would all end up looking the same—would that be acceptable?

In normal mode, there can be no physical entities, as it would conflict with the awakened body. As for the color issue, you'll need to find a skilled texture editor, or replace the swimsuit texture on the chest with a lighter-colored swimsuit texture on the shoulders.

Perhaps my thoughts haven't been properly conveyed due to translation issues.

It's impossible for me.

And I have no reason to achieve it by relying on others.

In other words, I believe we should avoid doing anything that might interfere with KT as much as possible.

What you’re asking for is possible, but it would largely negate the purpose of awakening outfits, and I believe that would interfere with KT.

So please do your best to awaken.

Except with this suit awakening also destroys the skirt. That makes shots like this impossible.

I've been experimenting with Gravure style photo shoots, and sometimes the awakening destroys the original suit too much, and makes for a bad pose.

Ultimately it is your mod and such, but part of being a modder is to subvert the original designs, after all, we use mods to make the Venuses reveal more skin, not less.

It seems that you're not saying, “I can't awaken the outfit, but I want to see what it looks like after awakening.”

I've been reading your recent posts about “not being able to awaken outfits,” so I misunderstood. Sorry about that.

And today, when I checked the outfit again, I realized that the shape of the skirt changes much more drastically between before and after awakening than I remembered.

If it changes that much, then I don't think awakening the outfit would ever become meaningless.

Correct. There is certainly a time and place for the awakening. It creates a malfunction, and sometimes a malfunctioned outfit has it's place in screenshot "photography". Sometimes however the malfunction is too great and ruins the appeal of the original.

One of my favorite suits that KT introduced was Zipline, because it had a built in Gravure line. Each gem increased the amount of zip down, making for an increasing appeal. In that suit the awakening removed the suit entirely. This allows for a natural "final step" by removing the suit, leaving the bikini underneath.

This is also why I like that the modding community here has mostly embraced "step down" mods instead of blanket "one step" removal. This way you can remove pieces based on either personal preference, or you can remove pieces as part of a larger "photoshoot".
