Some items from Devious Devices make my game CTD

I'm stuck on a quest because an NPC equips me with these "Maid Chains", and whenever that happens my game CTDs; the same doesn't happen on a new save for testing. I think it happens with other devious devices too, but this one is bothering me quite a lot.

What could be the reason that the games CTDs when loading an item when the same doesn't happen on a new save?

 

Does anyone have any ideas? The logs really don't tell me much, if there is a method to get more information i will be more than glad to try it.

Edit: I've also tried to advance the quest with console commands, but that just made it impossible to proceed as the marker was stuck on the NPC and i couldn't talk to him anymore.
