nehaberlan Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Hi, Until two days ago, I was playing Skyrim SE normally. Then, I had CTD from the beginning. I use Skyrim SE 1.5.97. SKSE64 2.0.20 (game version 1.5.97). SkyUI_5_1_SE RaceMenu Alternate Start - Live Another Life-272-4-2-0 Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch-266 - 4.2.5b - 1.5.97 For avoiding crashes, I use: Bug Fixes SSE (Special Edition) DLL Plugin Loader v1 Address Library for SKSE Plugins - All in one-32444-2-1582543914 SSE Engine Fixes for 1.5.39 - 1.5.97 Engine Fixes - skse64 Preloader and TBB Lib SSE Fixes v3 for SSE 1.5.97 I installed Creation Kit SE also. I used "BestOfBoth_1.6.1130.0-1.5.97.0.exe", because my game was looked like AE, not SE. When I ran LOOT again, I had some weird things. Before, LOOT has shown the uncleaned master mods, and told me run SSEEditQuickAutoClean.exe cto clean them. Now, I don't get any messages as I've already cleaned them before. Another weird thing is when I press "Sort plugins", I got this warning: _ResourcePack.esl This plugin contain records that have FormIDs outside the valid range for an ESL plugin. Using this plugin will cause irreversible damage to your game saves. I've never get this warning before. I tried to start the game normally, without using SKSE. I got CTD. I checked the antivirus/firewall settings. They look normal. They don't block any Skyrim SE files. Here is the Load Order 0 0 Skyrim.esm 1 1 Update.esm 2 2 Dawnguard.esm 3 3 HearthFires.esm 4 4 Dragonborn.esm 5 5 ccBGSSSE001-Fish.esm 254 FE 0 ccQDRSSE001-SurvivalMode.esl 254 FE 1 ccBGSSSE037-Curios.esl 6 6 ccBGSSSE025-AdvDSGS.esm 254 FE 2 _ResourcePack.esl 7 7 Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp 8 8 SkyUI_SE.esp 9 9 RaceMenu.esp 10 a RaceMenuPlugin.esp 11 b Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp I installed game five times. I totally deleted "Skyrim Special Edition" folder before re-installation. It didn't worked. If you can help me anyway, I'll appreciate.
travelmedic Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Skyrim just got an update from Bethesda. It might have messed up some of your mods, you'll have to go to each mod page and see if they updated. SKSE also updated for the new version. 1
EjiQT Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Commands: download_depot 489830 489831 3660787314279169352 download_depot 489830 489832 2756691988703496654 download_depot 489830 489833 5291801952219815735 Instructions: 1. Open a command window on your desktop by pressing Win (your Windows key) and R together. A small console window should open. Enter this command: steam://open/console And press enter. This should open a console tab in Steam. 2. Copy, paste, and run each above command with its code one at a time (do not run all three at the same time). It'll state it's downloading something to your steam/steamapps/content/app_489830 folder. It should tell you itself where the files it downloaded went if it's somehow different for you. Wait until it says it's done (it may take a bit), then run the next command. Do this for all three until finished. 3. Navigate to the folder and you should see 3 folders labeled "depot_" with a bunch of numbers after them. Open these folders and place their contents to where your Skyrim Special Edition folder is (where the SkyrimSE.exe is). This will revert your game back to 1.6.640. Finally, delete these files from your Data folder: MarketplaceTextures.bsa _ResourcePack.bsa _ResourcePack.esl Then use the 1.6.640 -> 1.5.97 patcher from here https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/57618?tab=description 2

Edit: My mistake... Skyrim Special Edition folder, not Data folder... Edited December 7, 2023 by nehaberlan

I downloaded and checked the SKSE 2.00.20 that is for SE 1.5.97. It's still the same. I reinstalled the game again. I didn't touch anything yet. I'll try to open it with its default files without using SKSE. Let me see if I still get CTD.

nehaberlan Posted December 7, 2023 Author Posted December 7, 2023 I don't know but I get this idea also: My Steam might be corrupted, and reinstalling could correct that. Actually, I have Skyrim LE too. I tested Skyrim LE also. I had no problem with it. So, this theory can be false.

Now, I'm downloading "BestOfBoth_1.6.640.0-1.5.97.0.exe". How can I know the difference between them. I can barely use LE. :) If I can make this run correctly, it'll be unbelievable, unexpected.

When I opened LOOT, the game looks SE, not AE. I got cleaning messages for main/default .esm files. I'm gonna do that right now. After cleaning, I'll try to open game with "SkyrimSELauncher.exe" and "skse64_loader.exe". So, we'll se what happens then... Thank You... Cheers...
nehaberlan Posted December 7, 2023 Author Posted December 7, 2023 I noticed something. I was using Alternate Start - Live Another Life 4.2.0 (Last Version) that requires Skyrim Special Edition 1.6.629 or greater. Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch 4.2.9 or greater. However, I needed ASLAL that is compatible with 1.5.97, that was ASLAL 4.1.4 In its description, it says: Installation Requirements ========================= Skyrim Special Edition 1.5.97 or greater. Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch 4.2.4 or greater. Maybe, ASLAL 4.2.0 caused that problem. I don't know. Until now, I checked both "SkyrimSELauncher.exe" and "skse64_loader.exe". I had no problem with the correct version of ASLAL. Next, I install and test the other mods that I've used. Thank You for your help...

When I installed it, I got error. It installed 1.6.1130.0 Version. So, I tried to use Creation Kit Downgrade Patcher. Unfortunately, It downgrades Steam CK version 1.6.438 to Bethesda's old 1.5.73 version. I needed Creation Kit SE's old version. I used your technique. I went to: https://steamdb.info Search for Creation Kit. I used "steam://nav/console" in my browser to open Steam console. I wrote this: download_depot 1946180 1946182 5099162879680505807 It was Creation Kit SE 1.6.438.0 download_depot 1946180 1946183 2725999750516785042 It was Creation Kit SE 1.6.1130.0 I checked the "Steam\steamapps\content" folder. There was another folder named "app_1946180" In that folder, there were two folders: "depot_1946182" and "depot_1946183". In the "depot_1946182", there is only "CreationKit.exe" file, that was 1.6.438.0 version. So, I can use Creation Kit Downgrade Patcher now. Another option that I can do is selecting "Verify integrity of game files". After using that, all of the main files will restore, and the game will be as AE 1.6.1130.0. After reinstalling the last version of the Creation Kit SE (1.6.1130.0), I can try to use "BestOfBoth_1.6.1130.0-1.5.97.0.exe". It sounds logical, but I don't know if it'll work that way. Maybe, "BestOfBoth" doesn't work for the Creation Kit SE. I'll try... Edit: I tried "Verify integrity of game files" option. I used BestOfBoth_1.6.1130.0-1.5.97.0.exe. It didn't cause any problem. However, it didn't work for Creation Kit SE. So, I used Creation Kit SE 1.6.438.0 version, then I used Creation Kit Downgrade Patcher. Guess what? Creation Kit's running!!! Cheers... nehaberlan Posted December 8, 2023 Author Posted December 8, 2023 (edited) I got CTD again. I'll start from the beginning. Edit: After using your method, I'm starting to use SE normally. I don't know when I'll get the next CTD. Edited December 8, 2023 by nehaberlan
