Neyri LL Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Be careful in the SkyrimSE download section. Some new users are popping up with mods designed to grab the attention of horny goons (all of us?) there on LL, with AI generated descriptions and stolen pictures. The mod will contain a .exe file with a name matching the mod, which many are reporting as trojan viruses. The comments on the posts will even have AI generated responses supporting the mod and giving "tips" and praises... I know most of you are wiser, but hopefully someone sees this and learns to be more cautious! 6
Dr.Modz Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 (edited) Do you have an example of a mod page that has trojan viruses? Edited December 6, 2023 by Dr.Modz
Neyri LL Posted December 6, 2023 Author Posted December 6, 2023 3 minutes ago, Dr.Modz said: example They have been removed as far as I can see (thanks mod team!!), but for example one was named something like "Immersive Sexy Skyrim Episode 3" with an intricate, yet somehow still generic step by step explanation of how to get immersed in this mod, with little to no explanation of what the mod does. Just watch out for what you download, from who and then inspect whatever you decide to download
Dr.Modz Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Ah I see. I've never encountered a virus, and the mods I download are usually either several weeks old or are old mods that have been updated. Specifically I use the mods that modify gameplay and add actual content. I guess its safer to wait for a mod to be out for a few weeks or download mods that have 1k+ downloads. 1

Same for the Sims 4 yesterday and today ? weird accounts stealing pics and the link is a .exe or .apk which make no damn sense when sharing a sims file. 3

East to spot, it'll be a newly registered user whose only post is the mod in question. The mod's description will be along the lines of best porn mod ever with screenshots stolen from other mods on here. 3
