Body issue - Invisible body, feet and hands on human races

Hi, i am having an issue.

My setup used to work fine with no issues until a windows 11 update fucked up my OS and i had to do an emergency recovery, which basically meant rreinstalling all the apps. Now in the game all characters have invisible body and hands, and i cannot seem to fix it by building the body in bodyslide because that doesn't fix it. I also have the old bodyslide output folder that i was using before the crash, but even if i enable that one the problem remains.  It seems that only human races are affected, both male and female. Maybe something got corrupted in the game files? I was thinking about verifying caches, but then it would autoupdate to special edition...

Thank you for the help

Body, as in naked body or clothes and armor?

I assume you meant to say AE, otherwise, wrong forum?

Anyhow, I'd start with this:

  1. Get the base formid of one affected actor.
  2. Use the inv command to list their inventory, note down all equipped items even if they seem irrelevant.
  3. Load up xEdit with all your current mods selected (ie. don't change the default selection).
  4. Locate the NPC_ record of the sample actor.
  5. Locate the associated RACE record.
  6. Check for mods altering the race record, and whether or not their modifications could cause this issue.
  7. Locate the ARMO record (skin) associated with the race.
  8. Go through its associated ARMA records, and inspect each *Torso* record.
  9. Note down the model file names for both genders.
  10. (optionally) Do the same for each clothing item (hat, shoes, top, bottom, necklace, gloves, rings, ...) in the sample actor's inventory.
    1. Locate the ARMO record.
    2. Note down the equipment slots used by the armor (BOD2).
    3. Locate the associated ARMA record(s).
    4. Note down the model file names for both genders.
    5. Note down the equipment slots used by the armor addon (BOD2).
  11. Inspect all model files you've gathered so far in NifSkope.
  12. Make sure the mesh loads and looks fine.
  13. Inspect equipment slots in the mesh:
    1. For each BSTriShape ->BSDismemberSkinInstance -> Paritions -> Partitions -> Body Part
    2. Ensure the equipment slots in the plugin matches what you see in the mesh, ie. "32 - Body" = "SBP_32_BODY"
    3. Helmets, hats and circlets do not always follow this rule. Note down the exceptions if unsure. Generally you do not want a helmet that uses slot 32, and weird cross-overs like this.

You may also be able to rule out the naked body if you issue the "unequipall" command while you have an affected actor selected. If their naked body appears, you can be certain the issue is with one of the armor pieces in their inventory. Do this between step 2 and 3 above then ignore everything about the race and naked body.

Yes, i meant AE lol. And when clothed, only the hands are missing, but when unclothed it's only a floating head.

I will try the other things and let you know, thanks

Ok, first batch of answers:

i used UNEQUIP ALL and the problem persists. However, i noticed another problem when doing this: sos is not working properly......the schlong is here, but it's missing its textures. I very much doubt, that this is related to armor or equipment, because it does so in the character creator while using alternate start. I am 60% convinced that it is a load order issue as of now, but i cannot understand what berserk mod could be causing this, since it's not the body mods i am using and the other races (vanilla and custom) work as they should.

A mod loaded before its masters perhaps? When windows 11 crashed my life, i lost the load order txt file, and i honestly didn't put too much science in reverse engineering it

That "file" can be recovered from a save file. Open a save from before in ReSaver and check the Plugins tree branch.

OOOOH! I didn't know this! Thank you, THAT problem is solved. It was, as i suspected, the load order.
Now i have one different issue though. Gonna be posting a screenshot because idk how to describe it
