Problem with DD plugs from other mods

Plugs from other mods are all broken but the base ones from DD 5.2 work fine, I have a lot of mods with plugs and none of them work. I get an option to take it out or carry on for anal plugs, while the vag ones look like they equip in the menu but I get no popup. and neither types will get equipped.

 

I chased it down to DD Sexlab Aroused Keywords.esp which comes from Bakafactory's BHUNP DD Bodyslides and adds aroused keywords to plugs, but it also changes some other elements to non English. I can delete it and start a new game fine, I can remove all the records in the .esp so that all that's left is the header and that works fine in a new save too, but neither option works on my existing save. On an existing save if I remove the .esp I get a crash which is expected and understandable, but it removes even the option of trying to repair the change with resaver. As for the edited .esp on an existing save, the same issue persists so I'm guessing something is baked into the save.

 

Is there any way to fix an issue like this on an existing save?

 

Edit: May have fixed it by loading a much older save where I didn't have any plugs equipped, I didn't realize Deviously Accessible applied a hidden plug. Guess I'll find out when I get back to that quest.
