A couple of issues

First off I wanna apologize for originally posting this in the wrong thread. Alright so for starters I'm having an issue with opening cart ride being wonky, I know from experience that it's a skeletal issue. I've run nemesis, and I have xp32e installed. And when I run skse from Mo2 I get a black screen for about 10-15 seconds, the audio starts playing in a stuttering and crackling manner and then the main menu pops up but despite have the game set to run in 3840 x 2160 it's a very small window. If I run it from the skse.exe directly I only get the black screen for about 10 seconds before the main menu pops up, no other issues happen during. I've cleaned all the necessary files with SSEdit, and had mo2 sort my load order.  I hope someone can help.

Positive thing about this then is that we can pretty much guarantee its a mod issue, not your ram memory or sound chip dying ?

Pretty sure I've never heard anyone claim its a skeletal issue before, but sure, I probably wouldn't exclude it either. As far as I know, if something goes wrong with the intro sequence, like: cart flies off to Masser, bounces around wildly, rides upside down or sideways or NPCs stand around doing nothing and scenes break, this is all a timing issue. Too many scripts or quests starting at the start of the cart ride throws off the timings and shit hits the fan. Probably the reason why everyone that's serious about modding uses an alternate start mod. If you're a fan of the cart ride (seriously, who is at this point?) some of the mods allow you to do the ride as an option - but this allows the game to properly start up before you do it.

Window implies the game rendering surface has a border, a title bar, can be moved around with the mouse and maybe has the usual Windows window control box buttons like minimize, maximize and close. If that's the case, you simply got a mod or ini setting telling the game to run in windowed mode.

I should hope not, this PC is brand new and only a few days old.

I remember reading somewhere if it happens it's due to the xpmse not loading correctly due to fnis or in this case nemesis not being run correctly.

I think I might've messed up the pref.ini...

I got it working! I installed Alternate Start and I replaced the pref.ini I messed up with the original pref.ini to fix it. I also forgot to tweak the settings for Display Tweaks accordingly. Thanks for the help so much for the help.

Consider doing all your ini edits either in skyrimcustom.ini or as part of MO2 mods (see the "INI Files" tab) from now on. Undoing bad edits without losing actual game settings will be easier.

Will do. Game is still taking about 10-15 seconds to go from a black screen to the bethesda logo. And any menu pop ups are kind of slow. Any fixes for that?

ENB and (presumably CS) slow down pre-menu loading quite a lot. Plugins are also loaded at this point so I suppose if you have a lot of massive plugins (i.e. say 20-30 dlc sized plugins) loaded that could be a thing.

Skyrim is also a game that uses frame based timers and to some extent the game logic is bound to the render loop, meaning if you unlock your frame rate during load screens the game will load faster. It will probably also crash or do something else stupid like that but still, something to keep in mind here perhaps; something that slows down rendering can directly slow down loading of content from the hdd/ssd.
