Bah! Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Been searching all over for the better part of 2 hours to find an answer to this so I figured I'd just ask where I knew people would likely know. Been trying to change the hair and hair color on this(https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/81155) mod, but no matter what in the creation kit it doesn't seem to load the face data. When going to the facepart itself it gives me a "Marker_Error0" for the name of the nif. Naturally if I just change the hair the way it is it only loads up the eyes and mouth into the actual mod. I've made sure that all required mods are marked and nif file is in the mod directory itself. It is also probably relevant to mention that I am launching this through MO2, however I don't see how that would affect it in this way. Please excuse my ignorance with the creation kit as well as it has been a long time since I've done anything with it.

bnub345 Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 The CK takes all of the different head parts for NPCs and combines them into a single nif, the facegen mesh. If you want to edit the face in the CK you need all of the parts that went into the facegen mesh (head, eyes, brow, hair, mouth) in the head parts formlist. Meaning you need to have all of the parts that mod author used to make the facegen in the first place, you can't work backwards from the existing facegen mesh. For what you want to do, editing the facegen nif directly in nifskope is much easier. Make a character with the same hair style/color and export the head from Racemenu. Then copy/paste this hair over the follower hair. Make sure the copied hair has the same name as the original hair or you get the dark face bug.

I'm realizing again why I never did any NPC editing back in the day lol. Thank you again.
