cave story Cave Story+ main story: Nude Quote and Curly

i liked hilbo75's mod of naked curly, but it wasn't enough for me, so i went ahead and made the main story have Quote naked as well.

 

all you have to do is take that rar file quote and curly nude.rar, unzip it on the main game file "Cave Story+", and click "Yes to All".

 

it comes with a backup just in case you wanna play the game without being caught playing naked Quote in cave story.

 

 

it does also comes with hilbo75's mod as well, tho i modified it a little, and all of the images are PNGs btw.

I didn't realise there's been a nude mod for Cave Story+ for years. It's good to know that it exists and that Quote is now joining in the nudism fun too.

It's always great to see more nude mods for pixel art indie games.

I can't seem to get this to work. I put the files in data, but nothing seems to change...

@Icantevenname my guess is that the files within the data are bmp rather than png, does you haven't seen the the box and didn't clicked "yes to all", i could be wrong, but my game run (almost) perfectly fine as is

 

Maybe try reinstall the game and redo the unzip and "yes to all" steps, maybe it'll work

 

And it'll only work on plus version, old version is the one i haven't touch on.

When I extract the files, the two data folders automatically merge together.

odd, maybe check on the data, if "mychar" file has nude quote and curly in it, then the rest should be successfully replaced by the mod, if not, unzip the file elsewhere and put the "data" file that contain nude quote and curly into the main file "Cave Story+" manually, click on "Replace" button, and it should be working.

 

and put the "backups" file somewhere hidden while not far from the main game, just don't put it in "data" file

The problem seems to be that the normal sprites and your modded sprites are different formats.

 

The computer considers MyChar.bmp and MyChar.png to be two different files. I'm not being prompted to replace anything because nothing is being replaced to begin with.

well then, i already said in this thread that "and all of the images are PNGs btw.", maybe try converting my png images to bmp, i recommend using "Paint.NET" program as this is the program i used to change the sprites.

 

and my game used the PNG format, so that explain the difference, maybe i'll get the BMP version once i got the time to do it.

Yeah I followed the above steps with the png and bmp versions and neither worked. It didn't matter what I did. It would show the nude sprites in the base folder but not mychar

Sadly. Looking at the files for my copy of Cave Story + on Steam. The files are very different from this mod. So It can't be used without some serious edits.

Looks like some manual work needs to be done to overlap the nude sprites over the new sprite sheets.

It wouldn't take much honestly. The Face sheet just needs to be renamed, and possible coped a few times. The NPC files look like they just need to be renamed as well. The main character sprites however. Looks like the Easy, Normal, and Hard mode versions got split into their own files. So it'd take some copy/paste and careful lining up of the imagines into those files. The artwork itself wouldn't need redrawing or anything. At least from what I see? Alas. I do not have the editing skills to feel confident in trying to do the edits myself despite how easy it looks to do.

I'm already working on this, actually. 

It's not a matter of having to rename files, I had to cut and paste the sprites over to the newly arranged sprite sheets and also update the colour palette.

I don't think the other skins were edited, it's just the main ones but I could try to edit them to be naked as well. Including the classic version.

Honestly. Just having the main boy be naked in this game is more than enough~ ❤️ For me anyway. You already have a lot of projects you work on. Editing this to update it is already more than enough. :3

Nude Quote and Nude Curly updated for Cave Story+ 2026

Based on hilbo75's and gagaton302's mod.

- Nude sprite edits have been applied to the newly arranged sprite sheets

- Nudified more sprites in "NpcRegu" for the "dark" and "red" version of NPC Curly/Quote

- Added a pixel to Curly's sprites so she has a visible vulva

- Classic version of the sprites have been nudified, by yours truly

CaveStory Updated Nudes.zip

Extract the zip file and place the "data" folder in the game's folder where "CaveStory+.exe" is and replace the contents.
