Nefaram slave behaviour - red explosive spell effect

I have installed Nefaram through Wabbajack. I'm not sure what is doing this, but my PAH slave has a red circular spell that keeps activating on them and ragdolling them. 

I suspected this may be an effect from the iron collar of leashing related to preventing them from escaping, but removing the item did not prevent the effect from triggering.

I am at my wits end trying to figure out what I am doing wrong, so I implore you, good people of the internet, for help. Nothing seems to end the effect.
