I found this guy who made a pretty good XPS model of Heather but I find it too difficult to mod her into the game, can anyone help me?

Is model swapping a thing for Silent Hill 3? For the PC version.

Last time I made the game years ago I did it with this pretty lame mod which is just a trouser/shirt retexture:

That mod is a texture swap, not a model replacement. I'm unaware if there is anyway to modify the model assets of the game. The game itself is incredibly old and I'm pretty sure there would be many issues with attempting to modify the files. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think trying to mod this game this long after it was made is pretty close to impossible unless you're a very good programmer and can make an import/export tool for this game.

 

I think some people have managed to export models and textures from the game but as far as I'm aware there are no examples of a successful model import. Textures are a bit easier to mess around with from my understanding.

I havent seen a model swap mod for a 2000's game either. Every mods afaik is just texture swap.

Guess I'll wait until Silent hill remake, I love this franchise.
