CTD when getting near Winterhold

Title. I crash when i get anywhere near Winterhold. i can CoC into the frozen hearth and it loads but going outside crashes. Carriage/walking both cause the crash.

try this load order and see if it fix the crashes

Crash may have occured because of a texture in a nif. Unfortunately the name of the nif is not in the log, nor is the texture name. Seems like the texture may be in a bsa.

 

Edit: Sysinternals' Process Monitor may reveal the file. Look for any nif, bsa and dds files that may have been accessed just before the crash.

i changed the load order and the problem persisted, i uninstalled all mods and started fresh and was able to get into winterhold. slowly added mods back (sexlab stuff last) until MNC then it did it again. i removed mnc but that didnt fix it and i had to uninstall all mods again, im just going to skip all the sexlab stuff because that seems to be where my problem lies

have you tried updating sexlab? there is also for Skyrim AE, it works perfectly
