Elemental Resistances

Is it just me, or is the elemental resistance found on loot a lot higher than the enchantments you can perform with enchanting?

It's probably weighted that way to make it so that loot isn't just vendor trash but is actually useful.

Yep it's weighted. You can create enchantments more powerful than what you can find, you just need to put the points into the skill tree for it.

With maxed enchanting you can get elemental immunities easily, especially with a nord or dark elf.
