Wickedwhims fps drop

As the title says my game drops from around 180 fps to 25 fps, then I hit ESC it fixes for like 10-20 seconds and again choppy gameplay. Is there any way I can make it work better?

My PC is top notch and I didn't had such problems on my old one

That is a well known and documented bug that comes from the game and had nothing to do with WW or your PC.

I have the same problem since years. Problem is, that the clock of the graphics card stepping down for no reason. That happend with both nvidia and amd cards. If you hit esc in most time the graphics clock comes back to a normal level. If this happend again after a few seconds for me only restarting the game helps. I find out that there are areas in game where it happend much more often. In Windenburg near the disco pan europa close to the water it happend very often. Triple the speed often makes it happend.

 

Maybe your old pc had a old graphics card (or onboard) that do not support variable GPU frequency (or has not the abbility to clock so much down) so the problem not happend.
