bugs on crushes' buffs on the same lot

I have a teen sim that has a crush on two sims at the same lot at the same household. these buffs/moodlets "swooning over crush, etc..." oftentimes applies to my sim's crush but the sim he's been crushing on does not have the crush sentiment - with a teen (has mutual crush sentiments), and with a young adult (only one-sided crush sentiment) whenever in proximity. 

 

I guess you can only have one crush at a time for a moment if you want this to work properly.
