I played Skyrim for the first time about 5 years ago and wanted to jump back in to play it again. I didn’t want to change much of the vanilla game as i would like to experience it again but i’d like to give the game a bit of a facelift whilst staying loyal to the original style. i have a pretty powerful pc. does anyone have any recommendations or lists for visual mods?

You should start by saying which version of skyrim you are on. Currently you are in the legendary edition section so you should be on LE but I'd rather ask. If you are on LE I can give you some more recommendations so for now universal ones: get ENB and get Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM, this is shape and texture mod, these two are single biggest changes to graphics you will experience in my opinion, if you are on LE from LE nexus page if you are on SE from SE side if you are on AE read up if it works there. ENB has a separate site for it, just google enb and your version of skyrim.

Then find some ENB preset for whatever version that you have, nexus has a whole mod category for that, know that you can turn off a lot of features so all you need to do is find almost perfect ENB preset and make it perfect by customizing, while picking that one please red the descriptions as some ENB presets for example are not compatible with weather mods etc. the preset that I use is not really vanilla so I can't really recommend any specific one, also watch out presets will require specific ENB versions sometimes, just pick closest version that the site lets you download but higher than required.
