Is it possible to edit an item's base value?

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but I was wondering if it is possible to change the base value of a craftable item. The item in particular is a Knights Templar armor set based on Assassin's Creed, it can be found here (note: Japanese website) - http://modtype.doorblog.jp/archives/18748419.html

The armor is great and everything, only its base value is about 50,000 Septims, 75,000 for the helmet. This causes my Smithing levels to unnecessarily skyrocket, which is a real pain. Is there any way to edit the base value of the item so it gives less experience per craft? If not, I know that I can use console commands to lower my level back down. I'm just looking for a more permanent, less game-breaking solution.

Thanks!

Lowering your skill back down is the least ideal way to solve the problem, as the overall experience gained toward level has still been adjusted ( regardless of if you level or not ) for the smithing gains.

If you have the Creation Kit installed then changing the value of the armor is easy enough. Load up the mod in the CK, and in the object Window click on Armor under items, NOT armor addons. Now find the armor you're looking for. If you click the Header "Editor ID" you can sort them alphabetically for an easier time looking. Once you find a piece you're looking for double click it. A new window will pop up with all the stats for that armor, how much rating it has, weight, and value. Value is the 3rd one from the top left. Change it to whatever you desire. If you still wish it to have a value and not just make it 0, some base examples are DragonPlate Base Value is 2125 and Daedric is 3200. Once you're finished Click OK. You will notice at the top of the CReation Kit window next to the mod name you opened will be a little *. This means you have changed something but it has not yet been saved. You can then either use the File-> Save, or if you notice that little button at the top that looks like a floppy disk, you can just click that once and your changes will be saved.

Have fun.

You can lower it but the thing is when it's loaded into the game the merchant selling it will adjust the price. This is to make it so you shop around for stuff.

It should just be a matter of opening the Creation Kit, finding the armor and changing the base value to a lower number.

I am aware that lowering the skill is not an ideal solution, and neither is lowering base level. It was just a band-aid fix in case I couldn't find a better solution. Luckily I also have a save file from before crafting the armor, which I will now be using.

I installed the creation kit, and you were right, changing the value was a breeze. I made the price slightly more than steel, and slightly less than steel plate. Thanks for the help.

I have one more question though.

The set consists of a Helm (covers Hair and Circlet IIRC) and a Full Body Set (BODY, Hands, Feet). I play as a Khajiit, and when I equip the helm it doesn't show. Do you know if there is any way to fix this?
