Help for man player texture and mesh mods

I always played a female character because mods like CBBE and HDT are for females and they are great. But I want to play a male player this time and the alternative is HIMBO. The question is should I install CBBE and HDT and female body textures to improve NPCs? Are they compatible with HIMBO and Tempered Skins? Thanks

I'm using both CBBE and HIMBO together and they work fine. You just need to build the meshes in bodyslide with each one (as in, build all the cbbe meshes with CBBE preset of choice, then all the HIMBO meshes with the HIMBO preset). Both come with all the base game/AE creation club armor sliders/mesh files for doing so. I also highly recommend OBody to randomly distribute presets to npcs for variation (you can change which npcs have which one in-game using a hotkey if you don't like what they have). HIMBO for sure works with Tempered Skins, as its mentioned by name on their mod page as working (HIMBO generally works with any SOS male meshes).
