qwed0 Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 (edited) Hi, I decided to install the WickedWhims mod this week for the first time and ran into a huge issue. So I downloaded the mod and placed it in the Sims 4 Mods folder as instructed but when I booted up the game, I couldn't see the WickedWhims script folder under the Script Mods category in the Custom Content menu that pops up at the beginning. I enabled custom content and script mods allowed and restarted the game as well. I was able to see my sims in the nude and also the various attractiveness options in CAS. I could also see the various WW items in Build Mode, like the stripper pole and the sex-on-the-wall purple thing. But I couldn't get any gameplay options at all. When I started a new game with WW, a message popped up, saying that the game can't find the WW script folder and suggested it was buried too deep. However, I placed WW into my Sims 4 Mod folder like this : Downloads>Electronic Arts>Sims 4>Mods. I also don't have any other mods installed and no additional animations or whatever, just the WickedWhims folder. I also tried extracting the WW package and WW ts4script folders and placing them as is in the mods folder but it still doesn't show up under Script Mods. At first, I thought the issue was that I was playing the Sims 4 from my external hard drive. So I transferred the game to my regular hard drive. It's still not working. I downloaded the latest WickedWhims version (v176c). The version of the game I'm playing is 1.98.158.1220. I would really appreciate any help. Thank you! Edited June 17, 2023 by qwed0

Spoiler Here is a video of how to install WW also explaining common mistakes with the folder extraction: Also like @LittleRedSonja said please upload screenshot of your mods folder with the path clearly visible like this: 1
qwed0 Posted June 18, 2023 Author Posted June 18, 2023 Hi, thank you for the replies and the video! I'm using macos so the folder path looks different. I'm not sure if I "unzipped" the script file by accident, I don't really know what that means. Today, I also tried clearing out my game cache and I still have the same issue of the CC menu showing up with only the WW tuning package visible.

Spoiler Your Sims 4 folder should be in Documents, not downloads. Maybe this is the issue here. Game might not be able to read the file like this. Did you install the game like this or your system made this path on it's own? Please try reinstalling the Sims 4 so it creates the folder in Documents (and make sure it's not linked to OneDrive or something similar or it will bring back deleted files when you update mods and cause problems). And with unzipping the script mod LittleRedSonja meant that you could opened it up with the program used to extract from rar/zip files - it can then break the script file and redownloading the mod again is advised. qwed0 Posted June 18, 2023 Author Posted June 18, 2023 Hello LittleRedSonja and mcromance, yes that was the issue, the Sims 4 folder being in the wrong location. I deleted the folder in Downloads and booted up the game and it works fine now. Thank you so much for your help! I really super appreciate it!
