Backstory:  these are Catalina and Amado Blood (my models for Pirates of the Deader sea set (mod). They say it was called so because this sea was more dead then the usual dead sea due to the pirates activity, especially these one's. They raided ships and towns, pretty much anything they could get their hands on to. Being brother and sister they made up the perfect and deadly duo, nobody could match them on the water and even on the land. They lived and undividedly reigned in 16th-17th century, and among the sea folks they also were known as the Kings of the Deader sea. To avoid mutiny on their ships named the Red Queen and the Black Chevalier, and also to strike fear to those unfortunate poor souls whom they met while being on abordage, they both used to cover their eyes with an additional eye tattoos. Therefore, members of their crew and any other else who has lived to tell the story of meeting these sea devils could swear that they never have seen them with closed eyes or sleeping. And that is why a lot of them believed that they weren't human but demons who raised from the depths of the Deader sea to haunt all the living fools who dared to cross the sea vast which belonged only to them. It is not known for now where or which exactly was that sea, since time went by, it was renamed quite a few times during wars for supremacy over the sea and maritime trade routes between different states.. But the leading historians from the University of Britechester and from the Foxbury Institute believe that it was located somewhere in between of the seas surrounding Sulani and Selvadorada.

 

 

 

Amado has lived a bright but short life, he met his end during raid on Porto Luminoso in Tartosa in 1646, that is well documented fact. Witnesses of his last fight claimed that he fought as the sea lion, and that he was stroke down only when he was surrounded by six guardians of the Port at once, he took away four of them with him. Debating on why this could have happened the same scholars bring the following arguments. Amando decided that it was time to extend his influence beyond of the beyonds of the Deader sea. He wanted to claim his rights on all of the seas, and not to limit his legacy by the one sea. His sister Catalina tried to convince him not to do so because there were other pirates who wouldn't also agree with him (according to some rumors, it was them who secretly notified the Administration of Porto Luminoso ahead of Amado's arrival, they were prepared for the attack of the Black Chevalier). In addition to that Catalina and her ship (the Red Queen) for the first time wasn't allying her brother in raid. Some say / think that if they would come all together the story could have ended otherwise, and this could have been one of the most successful documented pirates expedition, of course if anybody would have survived to document it. Also it is well documented that afterwards Catalina avenged her brother by haunting down those two guardian soldiers and a few civilians from Tartosa who according to rumors were posing and playing around with her brothers dead body. Those scholars conclude that it was unwise to be playing with a severed head of the dead pirate, in order to amuse themselves those civilians brought this upon themselves by committing their last crime of a "not honoring the King of the Deader sea". It is also not known for sure on what happened to Catalina after she took her revenge. Some say that she also died in the one of the following raids but there was never found any body proof to that (sea doesn't leave bodies, as they say). Other say that she has lived a long and happy life, she settled from piracy and being very beautiful and rich, she could afford that.

 

 

 

Historians are also not sure, to which culture Amado and Catalina belonged to. They obviously were hispanic by their names. Amado means the "Loved one", accroding to scholars this was a very fitting name for him because he was a well know lovelace (even some still argue about that presupposed story when he seduced the Duchess and wife of the Governer of the Sulani islands while it was under the French patronage, she was refusing to return back to her husband although the ransom for her was given away, of course the Governer stated that the damn pirates wanted more money in return for her, that there is nothing holly to them, even the sanctity of marriage is an empty sound to them). Although Catalina means "Pure" in spanish, people who met her were not inclined to consider her like that - says Prof. from the Foxbury INstitute Consi Stent (where "IN" stands for international) in his book "History of Piracy: released under Foxbury IN by C. Stent". According to historical documentation, she was a fierce sea warrior and only thing which she lusted for was blood, from this point most probably also comes the name of her ship, she was unflirty and not someone you would like to meet, says the same Prof. C. Stent. But because of their surname which is referring to the Odyssey of another famous pirate - Captain Blood, who was of the Irish descent, some suppose that they also were somehow related to that Captain Blood, maybe had some of that fiery irish blood in them: "shouldn't they be Amado and Catalina Sangre instead of Blood then" - asks, without giving answer, Prof. Nataniel Sure in book "Between myths and legends of the seven seas by N. Sure" released under the University of Britechester.
