Nifskope XML question

Greetings. Apologies in advance if this isn't the correct section to post this. I need some help here, here is the situation: I decided to merge a multi-piece armor into a single one in slot 32. I was able to do that through Outfit Studio. My problem is that some pieces use separate SMP XMLs. Is it possible to have a single nif reference multiple XMLs?

 

EDIT: Well, the only way I found to have it done is by combining the XMLs, which took me quite a while to figure out how to do it properly.
