Enable Blending (alpha property) vs water. A better fix?

I'm just wondering if anyone has come up with a better fix for the old "alpha property over something else with an alpha property" (as in water etc) issue.

~Messing with the alpha property flags and threshold, only seems to work if you incidentally turn "enable blending" off, giving things harsh edges and killing translucency in favor of just plain transparency. It doesn't disappear in water, but the end result often looks like *<I have a potty mouth>*

I've been doing this:

Clicking the box in BSLightingShaderProperty > Shader Flags 1 > Dynamic Decal

~or~

Just copying the BsLightingShaderProperty from some apachii skyhair. Essentially the same thing I think, +/- a few other flags.

This way seems to keep the blending nice and intact, and the item doesn't disappear in water or if overlapped by something else with an alpha property.

Has anyone come up with any better methods or is dynamic decal the best way to go? Can anyone see any issues arising from using the dynamic decal shader flag?
