Spyder Arachnid Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 So I'm having an odd issue. I got Oblivion on Steam, and just installed it and modded it up all kinds of fun. But when I hop in game, none of my mods are there. Nothing at all. I checked OBMM, I used BOSS, I made sure all my mods were installed properly and everything. Yet nothing is showing up at all. Before I had a retail copy of Oblivion, but gave that away a long time ago to my brother, so picked it up on Steam now. Never had any issues with the retail copy, but for some reason the Steam version won't load any of my mods. Any idea what could be causing this?
gregathit Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 First off, if you are using Vista, Win7 or Win8 you need to move steam out of the program files directory as that can block mods or make them wonky. Here is how to do so: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129 Next, you have special instructions on installing OBSE which you need to follow for steam. Those instructions are listed in the readme for OBSE. Do those and holler if you still have problems.
Spyder Arachnid Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 Yeah I already have Steam installed to my C drive, outside of Program Files. Did that when I first started playing Skyrim. I got OBSE installed right, according to the directions from OBSE. But I found out what the issue was. Got so used to playing Skyrim, forgot that Oblivion needs Archive Invalidation. Plus I had to reset the BSA timestamps and then run Archive Invalidation for it all to start working. Now everything is working. Thanks though. Appreciate it.
gregathit Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Ah, makes sense. Make sure you used OBMM or Wrye and did archive invalidation via bsa redirection. Have fun!
