Dialogues have become impossibly slow

Well, not impossibly, because it's happening.

And I only get half the conversation.

So when I have to talk with anyone, say someone giving me a new quest, I'll have to wait ages (several minutes in real time) and I'll get  (eg)  "do I really have to do that?" ... without actually seeing what they wanted me to do and then I click on it, and have to wait ages again ... to find out (actually I don't get to find our)  but at the end of the dialogue I am on a quest for whatever, having to guess where to go, and wondering what my other options would have been... 

 

Do you know what it might be? Something with Fuz Ro D'oh?

I've sorted this out. 

It was an incompatible version of Fuz Ro D'oh. I installed an earlier version I'd used before and everything worked perfectly.
