Why did this happen ?

Okay i spoke of my poly sim relationship in a earlier post. Im confused how this happned. Ive heard their is no romantic gain through sex. So this confuses me because the two guys love the girl. And i was curious so i had them go through every three way animation in the game. I had it set and everyone is seen as both male and female for the animations. That sometimes work whether its two girls or two guys. Okay so how did my two guys fall in love then. Ouside of sex they never kissed or anything like that. And only did on animations when i was having to switch them with lucy to fit some animations. So if animations of sex dont raise the pink how did it happen.
