Is that a possible way to add career to an NPC sims?

I tried to add career to the npc, but shift select weren't work, does it really can't work, or it just a bug?

Is mccc's function really can't work it? that Shift with left click does shows up some opition and can change the playing sims'role

I'm not sure, but jobs given by MCCC are "playable job" (Job a played sims can choose). Which seems to be different from NPC Job (bartender, stall vendor...). If you play a sims, he will lose any assigned NPC Job.
