KZ Style Khajiit Eyes pointed up

I've been trying to run KZ Style Khajiits and Argonians and I keep running into this issue specifically for female khajiit. Eyes are shifted upward, and appear to be from the base game instead of what's supposed to come with KZ core.  In addition, if I try to change the eye shape or eye color, they just straight up disappear.

 

Found that someone else was also having this same issue a few years back, so I wanted to see if anyone has ever made any kind of progress on what could be causing this

 

In the meantime, I'll be hitting my head against this particular wall. I've already tried disabling various mods that effect head or eye meshes, and still been getting this. I'll try to update if I figure out what I've been doing wrong.

Seems like a simple issue to fix. The thread you linked specifically mentioned the argonian mod conflicting with the khajiit one. Swap them around in the load order for a quick fix. Analyze their file and plugin record conflicts for a proper fix. Pick one.

 

Edit: If you already swapped the load order, or disabled the argonian mod then enable it again (or have it override the khajiit mod again). Now do the analysis again to find why the argonian mod breaks the khajiit mod. Once you know this, disable the argonian mod again and find the other mystery mod that is also conflicting in the same way.

My mod manager didn't give me any file conflict warnings with KZ Khajiit, and KZ Core has only conflicted with anything that affected any other vanilla HDPT textures, which I disabled for good measure. I also tried load order swap with KZ Arg, but instead of fixing one and breaking the other, it ended up breaking both of them, while loading KZ Khaj alone didn't do anything.

 

I looked up the plugins through xEdit, but both plugins largely win out over others, while Head Parts are only overwriting the base game records. There was a conflict with SOS, but swapping the load order with that also did nothing, especially since this bug only affects the female Khajiit. The only way both plugins conflict with each other is under some FormID Lists, which I tried patching together, but to no result.

 

I think I managed to fix the issue by disabling eye-based headparts for the Khajiit. I haven't seen how it'll affect NPC Khajiit yet, and I'm assuming it probably will. I'm speculating that there may be mesh/texture mismatch or something, since this shows humanoid eyes are working fine. I'll try to update if more issues relating to this arise.

 

EDIT: Yep, broke NPC Khajiit's eyes, so that def didn't fix anything.

I think I might be onto something. I noticed when I playing around with the face parts in RaceMenu, the eyes aligned with the supposed base game version of the beast head, while the KZ head didn't match up. On top of that, the KZ head appears to be a duplicate record instead of a overwriting record. I'll go tinker around with this in Edit to see if I can get this working properly.

 

EDIT: Welp, that went nowhere.

Okay, so after over a week of tinkering, I think I can see what the problem is, and it mostly just comes down to mesh and texture and other incompatibilities that would take quite a bit of patching, not to mention that KZstyle seems to be more of an NPC beautifying mod first and a player character mod second. I think I can see why basically nobody has posted anything resembling a solution.

Do you have both KZ Argonian and Khajit installed?
I find out that if I disabled Argonian then Khajit worked fine and opposite that if I disabled Khajit then Argonian worked fine
Probably face conflict some how here

here I open both ARG and KHA (or any esp from KZ you have installed) these red records below have are same record from both of the esps if KHA is on top these records overwrite ARG and make ARG's record empty, so I move those records from ARG into KHA and save to a new eps as a patch to fix compatible between them
