Flickering Character in Ostim Animations with 3ba, FSMP and SMP Hair - BUT ONLY FOR FEMALE ORCS​⁉️

Video attached. Female Orc Characters hair and whole body flickers (disappears and reappears very quickly) very consistently in Ostim NG animations. Particularly when selecting/progressing to a new animation, but its not limited to that.

 

I have been trying different 3ba body slots, hair mods, turning off mods, trying different FSMP installs etc. I have no idea what causes this. Also worth noting is orc female physics are just a lot more unstable during recent testing too. This flickering seems to occur a lot more outside, but can happen lots inside also. its occurred with female orcs with vanila hair on fresh saves too.

bonus bug which i probably can fix with a 3ba reconfigure is her butt flickering (in the non disappearing way) a bunch. think this happens regardless of race. - so don't pay attention to that, the actual flicker happens half way through.

I don't know the inner workings of OStim but that to me looks like a feature. As in, that could be the animation being loaded from the disk, or the character being turned invisible temporarily to avoid showing a t-pose or idle pose or something along those lines. If you freeze the video where your character is gone there appears to be a vertical shadow where your character used to be. Could be a video encoding artifact, or something actually in the game. If that's the case, the reason you're seeing it now and perhaps not before (or why others aren't seeing it maybe) could simply be timing: papyrus engine load or delay caused by system resources.

interesting. thanks for the reply. my script delay is definitely not optimal, about 80-100ms so it could just be that. my vram is also fairly stuffed when outside, though doesn't really make sense to me why itd happen inside too if that were the problem.

 

whats annoying, with an obvious workaround though, is its limited to just orcs and i have no idea why

Did you find a solution? I have the same problem and for me the boobs are flickering like hell.

Disable SMP and test again. Physics enabled hair has a tendency to do that. There's been multiple attempts to fix it over the years, but apparently it still happens. I haven't personally seen it in a long time though.

Turns out i i had the fps setting higher then 60 so that caused the issue for me.
