Face mesh issue with a converted Oldrim follower

Hello! I've recently re-installed Skyrim after several years of not playing. As part of my modlist, I'm including some follower mods that I have used back in Oldrim. Two of the mods successfully without issue using CAO and the CK - a third mod has not; not entirely, at least.

The mod in question is Me3Fan's Liara T'Soni companion mod:

The mod can be converted to use in SSE, though not without issue. The follower appears in-game exactly where they should be - but I seem to be having some sort of face mesh issue. The follower should have unique meshes for both the face and hair. The hair mesh and texture load fine, but the face mesh and textures do not; instead it's just a standard Imperial face. I have used this mod in the past in Oldrim, so I know that there should be a unique face to go along with the hair mesh.

Having unpacked the BSA, I can see that all necessary textures are present, and the meshes folder lists two meshes as expected. I've loaded both meshes into NifSkope, and they seem to be exactly what they should be - a face and hair mesh. At this point, I'm at the end of my rope and am out of ideas. If anyone can take a look at the mod and identify why the face mesh and textures don't seem to load, I would really appreciate it.

Having unpacked the BSA

You might not be able to use an oldrim BSA with SSE, try looking up how to convert the BSA or just unpack all of the files and use them outside the BSA.

Hmm. I went ahead and re-installed the mod through MO2 - choosing to unpack the BSA. I wasn't expecting it to work as I had attempted the same last night without effect.

This time I noticed that the mod was flagged as having files being overwritten by loose files in the overwrite folder. I went in, deleted the files, and now it seems to be working fine? I'm quite certain I had deleted those same overwrite files last night and that didn't fix the problem at the time. Not sure why it did this time, but I'm not gonna complain.

Thanks for the help! I'm not exactly sure why I couldn't get this working last night following the same line of thinking. Mind must've been muddled or something ?
