Wild Hearts

Wild hearts is surprisingly good even though performance has been rather abysmal on pc. Would love to see some mods, and it seems to be using a lot of assets from nioh 2.

Indeed. Considering the lack of mods made so far though, I'd imagine either the game is going to be overlooked entirely by the people who would be willing and able to make them or they are just waiting for that promised performance patch to drop before attempting to get into it.

I have hope that someday soon we will get that underwear mod.

Same and it looks exactly like Nioh 2 at least character creation wise.

There's even a bath house, and there's a mirror you can learn later that lets you re-edit your appearance as well.

I've been keeping my eye on this thread on Xentax to see if they can figure out the headers for decompiling the game:

I'm already able to use reshade with the game, which you can see by the enhanced colors/saturation of my screenies.  What we really need as a mod is a way to bypass EA's stupid hook, which is super annoying for steam users.

Looks like most of the files are under the /asset folder as well.

Ugh didn't realize it was dx12, that explains why there's performance issues.  Yay Microsoft and their beautiful directx api :D

it's the developers fault for poorly implementing it

@PepeLordd - For sure, can you name another game that runs direct12 smoothly?  Cause I've yet to see one.

there are plenty but the first that comes to mind is Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

@PepeLordd - Odd because Shadow of the Tomb Raider came out in 2018, and Dx12 came out in 2021.  So I'm guessing they made it "compatible" for dx12.

So when I say a game running smooth on dx12, I mean ground up.  As in the engine is build only on dx12, not dx11.  I can run this game fine, but am aware of the silly issues with optimization.

The biggest mistake they made imo was not having DLSS, which helped alot with Cyberpunk 2077.

Edit:

Hogwarts Legacy seems to be on dx12, and its overwhelmingly popular.  So I'm guessing its not dogshit optimized like the game above lol.  But I haven't played it yet, so I don't know :P

Might as well be on dx8. Only time I've ever seen a PC version of a game be this terribly optimized was intentionally done so to make the console seem more powerful and the better version with the mindset that a PC can't run it as well as console. Which that can't even be the case here for two reasons; it was developed for PC and the console version has it's own share of issues with optimization.

There's legit slowdown in the game. Still hitting 60fps cap yet the game is in slowmotion. Turning the surround sound option on improves your FPS by 5-10, no idea why. Dropping below 30 frames with all system managers showing 50% load on CPU and GPU, which means it's the game and not my system causing it. Can't stream the game on Discord unless you start the stream at the title screen. Unable to play ahead of release if you bought the game already unless you remove the game from your library. Had an 'optimization' patch already that made the optimization worse for a ton of people.

It's a complete train wreck. To think they said "Yeah, it's in shape to ship" and also didn't intentionally sabotage the product is crazy, but we're getting off topic. Still good to see people in here boosting the thread though.

Topic bump, in the hopes that the Wo Long extractor being made may actually work with Wild Hearts as well, when it's in a usable state that is.
