[SOLVED] Bodyslide/UNP armors showing incorrect body shape with additional issues

I've been trying to get around an issue where the NPC or player's body mostly remains static in appearance despite the armor clearly morphing around an 'invisible' body that doesn't match it, including whenever I use racemenu to edit UNP body morphs in real time. Additionally the body shown whilst wearing these armors is completely different and doesn't match my UNP body preset, where as the body shown without wearing them matches my UNP body preset. This issue definitely presents itself on two mods which are HDT edits for both vanilla armor and modded armor. For modded armors where the issue presents itself: I've followed their provided tutorials which do nothing to help. I've messed around in BodySlide with my limited knowledge to see if I could solve the issue, but so far I haven't even found a way to affect the issue at hand. I'm going to try and include as much relevant information here as possible. Even if you have a more obvious solution please give it, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Relevant Mods

  • BodySlide and Outfit Studio
  • *CBPC - CBP Physics with Collisions
  • *Bijin Skin - UNP
  • *Feminine Argonian Textures (Chameleon and Lizard) [UNP]
  • *Feminine Khajiit Textures (Grey Cat and Leopard) [UNP]
  • UNP Vanilla Outfits SE
  • *Immersive Armors
  • Immersive Armors NuttyFit UUNP replacer with Bodyslide
  • Baka Haeun UNP

* Note that I don't think these mods could at all be affecting the issue, but I thought to include them here anyway just in case.

Method I used in Bodyslide to set body and armor morphs

For body:
Selecting the Outfit/Body 'BHUNP 3BBB Advanced' with the Preset 'BHUNP - 7B Natural' and hitting build.
> Same Preset as before but for 'BHUNP...ced Feet' and '...Hands'.

For armors:
Outfit/Body 'BHUNP 3BBB Advanced' and Preset 'BHUNP - 7B Natural' selected.
> Group Filter and ticked 'IA NuttyFit', 'UUNP Vanilla Outfits (HDT)' and 'WACCF (HDT)'.
> Batch Build... (Build Morphs ticked) and hit Build (with all options ticked).

Additional stuff I did afterwards to help fix the issue, note that none of this affected the issue whatsoever:

  • In group filter selecting BHUNP 3BBB and Batch Build, unticked all then only ticked the relevant options.
  • Same as above but with all armors I want Bodyslide-ed selected too.
  • Used the other BHUNP bodies such as the normal (not advanced) body, TBBP and BBP bodies.
  • Tried other Presets, including non-BHUNP ones.

Additional information

  • I use Mod Organizer 2.
  • Breast and butt physics still seem to work perfectly fine on both the NPC, player and armor, as well as custom UNP skins applying correctly.
  • Looking at the individual armors in BodySlide also shows the body shape that doesn't match my preset.

Other misc. stuff I did that didn't help:

  • Made a MO2 mod just for Bodyslide meshes I've edited. Put at bottom of list to override merged patch changes, and additionally made sure 'Overwrite' has it's meshes deleted (which only included Bodyslide edit meshes).
  • Disabled merged patch .esp.

I understand this is incredibly verbose, but I really wanted to include as much information as possible so I wasn't wasting any helpful people's time with certain obvious solutions. Definitely worth noting that I am only so familiar with BodySlide and so any advice that might seem obvious to you I may be completely unaware of, so please, don't fret to share it!

Huge thanks in advance to anyone who provides me with any help and suggestions at all.

Typically this happens when whoever did the conversion/original outfit saved the outfit in OS with the body still selected as a reference. I suppose it is also possible that there's simply no morph data for the body - the result of a bad conversion maybe.

For the first issue:

  1. Open the outfit in OS.
  2. Right click the body shape (which is presumably green).
  3. Select Set Reference (it is no longer green).
  4. Save.
  5. Build again in BS (or restart BS and then build if nothing changed).

For the 2nd issue, that's a bit more involved. I'd do something like this:

  1. Open the outfit in OS.
  2. Select all shapes.
  3. Clear slider data.
  4. Remove all body shapes (if there's many).
  5. Load reference -> select the appropriate body.
  6. Conform all.
  7. Right click the body shape (which is presumably green).
  8. Select Set Reference (it is no longer green).
  9. Save.
  10. Build again in BS (or restart BS and then build if nothing changed).

Thanks!

First issue absolutely resolved. My only other question is if you were aware of any way to do this on mass?

As for the second issue, I just need some clarification as to what body reference (instruction number 5 to clarify) I should use. Like does it need to be a body that my current preset uses? I did try using the template for the body type itself, but then that body doesn't conform to my preset morphs, plus it also had breast clipping issues in game.

No, but if you want your preset to work properly, the morph (slider) names need to match. Simply swapping the reference body on an outfit will not do that however, for that you actually need to convert the entire outfit.

As for batch processing, no, that's an unfortunate thing missing from OS. A massive oversight by the creators I'd say, but that's a long story. Short of it is: it's not that simple, most of the time.

Edit: Actually it may be possible to batch-disable the reference flag (is it a flag?) and copy morph data over from somewhere else, like the body shape of another outfit. I sort of did something like that here. Maybe the idea can be repurposed. A silly hack no doubt but if you're into that sort of thing then go for it.

I'm not too bothered right now to look into creating/using a project just for that, but I might change my mind down the line.

Thanks again for all your advice and info!
