Just extract everything into the game directory.

 

About the project

This mod replaces the animated character portraits used during the visual novel sections of the
game with nude versions. If you download the high resolution version, the characters should also
look much sharper. The game clearly wasn't made for 1080p screens ^^

 

I am aware that there is a nude patch for Re;Birth2 that is also compatible with the first game, but I

personally wasn't a huge fan of the edited sprites, so I dusted off my Photoshop skills and spent a

couple of months creating my own edits. I am happy to receive feedback, so if you would like to see

some specific changes, let me know and I will see what I can do.

 

Apart from the image editing, there were a couple of technical challenges to overcome, so a

significant amount of reverse engineering work went into this as well. The preview link above also

contains a writeup describing some of the technical details, in case anyone is interested.

 

Credits

This was mostly a solo project I occasionally worked on during my spare time over the past year and a half.

I did all of the image editing and reverse engineering and wrote a bunch of tools, but there

are also some existing tools I used. Namely QuickBMS for the initial extraction of the files and the neptools

file server for the release version to avoid having to ship an entire game archive.

I do not own a Vita, so unfortunately I can't answer that question. The file loader is Windows only, but the actual textures and meshes might be compatible with the Vita version.

EDIT : trying with rebirth 3, and it already is compatible, just that the message window is kinda screwed. i simply used the tools given in the undertow forum post.

situation update

I'm glad to hear you like it!

 

Yeah, the file formats and paths are the same for the other ReBirths, but there might be differences in the models' capabilities. i.e. RB2 might come with different facial expressions, so my files might produce unexpected results in the other games.

 

I plan to eventually do the other games as well, but that will take some time since RB2 has additional characters and RB3 has completely new designs for existing characters.

 

Btw, you should be able to fix the message window by deleting neptools/data/SYSTEM/window/frame01.tid.

it is wacky sometimes, like when nep goes offscreen then come back (like going down and then back up), she's suddenly wearing different clothes, or characters turning pink when doing some animation. doesn't bother me too much though.
despite having new clothes/designs, it still seems to take the mods' edits instead, so maybe the biggest issue is just editing new characters.

Will you post the tools you created somewhere, the one that assembles the tilemaps and all that you detailed in getting White Hearts boob not cut off? I woud like to check if the same could be used for another Compile Heart game I have interest on.

I don't own a Steam Deck, so I can't say for sure, but I would guess that the mod loader won't work since it uses dll injection. Instead of using the loader, you could insert the character models and textures from my mod into the original .pac archives. It's a bit of extra work, but should work on all platforms.
