Hey, Treeb, I really liked your mod. The werewarg design is awesome. I see you used Erin's mountain animals as base, but I wanted to let you know it is not necessary. Your modifications work by themselves, and it is grey in the legal sense to use another mod as part of yours, so it is better to distribute it as standalone. I managed to remove Erin's work and leave only yours. Would you like me to send you the modified version?

This started because I have a lot of mods enabled, and my TPS drops quite a bit mid-game, so I wanted to tinker with the few mods that I could and yours was easy to check. Since it is all XML based, and I don't see anything that goes against Steam's policy, I would love to see this mod in the Steam Workshop. Your work deserves recognition. Removing Erin's animals from the file would enable you to publish it without any problems.

My opinion: It is a little OP, specially with the Battle Boosters from another mod and Giddie Up! (And I love it, durable efficient werewargs!)

Oh, BTW, I also added a bow to the female werewargs to easily identify them from the males, but it is a personal preference. You may upload it with the original texture or mine, whichever you prefer, I only hope you don't mind if I keep the alteration for my personal playthrough (no video or streaming, though. Just personal).

I was planning to change the mane for female/male werewargs, in the same way as lions and other species have some differenciating factors between genders, but I'm a total bloke when it comes to graphic manipulation. If/when I have those ready I'll gladly send you the results if you want them as well.

does this mod work for 1.4? it's under the submods in RJW main page, so I assume so but want to make sure

Yes, it works on 1.4.

Does this still work in 1.5?

Yes, it does. It is mostly XML and there aren't significant changes between Rimworld schema versions.

I use my custom version of this mod, though. It removes the other animals from the Erin's package, as I mentioned earlier.

Sorry for the late reply. I should come by Loverslab more often.

Hello, @treeb. I wanted to ask for your permission to publish the Werewargs mod for 1.6. I got better at doing 2D work and modified the graphics to give males and females a more distinctive appearance respectively. The bow still stands, though. I think in lore it would be like these were bred by the scientists that created them and marked them like that. I would like people to recognize your work.

I have also created assets for the RJW Animal graphics addon mod, and it works (kinda) for east-west orientations, but since this animal is bipedal instead of quadrupedal, the current code of that addon for 1.6 seems to hide the (not so small) tidbit behind the werewarg. I'll keep both separated in order to upload it to Steam and I'll try to get help from Shauaputa for addressing the graphics layer issue.

I see you haven't been online for a while, so I'll wait a few days in the hopes you come back and see this message. If not, I'll upload it as a "(Continued)" version, leaving the spot open for you to upload your version as the original author.

In case anyone is interested, here's the file I made based on Treeb's work.

And just for those curious, here's a sample of how I think the tidbits would look. I hope you don't mind me sharing it here. If it is, let me know and I'll remove my post and re-upload it without it.

I published the mod on the Steam Workshop, giving @treeb credit, of course. Just search for Werewargs.

I also submitted the RJW compatibility mod to the RJW Discord chat for inclusion in the Addons list. I'll have to wait for approval, but I hope you don't mind.
