manchucat Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Hi everyone, I need some help. The game was working, amazing I know, but when I entered Arcadia's Cauldron my character couldn't move from the spot where spawned in the cell. She could jump and run in place, animate when she drank a potion and so on, and do dialogue, but she can't move from that spot. What's worse is that old saves which were fine are now affected by this bug. I've tried leaving Arcadia's Cauldron and coming back in, loading previous saves (which are now affected with the same bug), changing cells (coc whiterun and even coc qasmoke), tcl on and off, but none of these worked. I sorted my mod order with loot before I started this playthrough. I really don't think it's a mod because I've been troubleshooting this build for weeks and I've been in and out of interiors plenty of times. This game is a new game and no mods have been added or removed from it. I searched online but I found very little, just a post somewhere from 10 years ago where a guy had the same bug with no mods on xbox. They told him to clear cache, which of course doesn't apply to pc. I tried pcb anyway, but it didn't help. If anyone can recommend any fixes I would appreciate it. P.S. I really like this playthrough. My Skyrim looks beautiful. Whiterun Hold Forest turned it into beautiful unexplored land. I explored this forest not knowing where I was despite having spent hours and hours in Whiterun Hold. I saw little dinosaurs leaping through the underbrush and the huge tail of a giant crocodilian disappearing into the forest, courtesy of Mikhail's Megafauna. I found a 10 foot tall terror bird (thank goodness it was dead. it probably fell from a great height, sigh). Swans float serenely in Lake Inalta and goats yell "bleahaaaaaaugh!" courtesy of Farm Co. The forest is alive and wild, with prehistoric mammals, foxes, jackals, hyenas, lions, and tigers, courtesy of Animallica. If anything, I'll have to take out Skyrim at War, even though it's an awesome mod, because it's just too much for Skyrim's little game engine that couldn't (even with Actor Limit Fix). That's not fair, I guess, since with this many creatures and NPCs it's the equivalent of asking it to shit a basketball. Witness the terrifying attack of the Imperial Army Airborne Corps: And the valiant dead rising to Sovngarde (real Nords would've spelled it Sovngaard, but whatever): I'd really like to save this playthrough, even though the character is only at level 4. I'm journaling her adventures in Take Notes, and this one is working out so far with a great rp vibe. Anyway, thanks for reading, and I'm interesting in any suggestions about how to fix this silly trapped on the spot bug. I'm so lividly frustrated that I might devote all this time I've been spending on Skyrim to making a new game in Unigine or something. Of course I would be starting from absolute zero knowledge, but I'm that irritated with this nonsense.

Definitely caused by a mod. Question is, did sorting the plugin order resolve a conflict, or cause one; as in, is this intended behavior or the result of a broken mod. I suppose what I'd do mysel in a situation like this: Kill yourself. This has a tendency to solve the weirdest of problems, however unlikely it sounds. Check for active effects, even hidden ones. Its possible to stop the player from moving by applying a slow effect that is too strong. Disable all mods with dlls. Start with things like animation, camera, physics, motion, combat. Leave the fixes for last. Idle randomiers DAR SMP/CBPC Movement smoothing mods and the like. Fancy combat mods. Any camera hacks. First person, or other "enhanced" cameras. Disable mods overriding movement hkx files. Including idles.
manchucat Posted January 16, 2023 Author Posted January 16, 2023 Thanks very much for your response! I tried killing my character, but the problem remained. One strange thing is that I turned off a mod (Sexlab Survival because of its barefoot effect) and I fogot to update FNIS. The bug disappeared. Then I updated FNIS, still with Sexlab Survival turned off, and the bug was back. Investigations continue.
manchucat Posted January 16, 2023 Author Posted January 16, 2023 I tried enable player controls, but it didn't help, because of the real culprit! Your Honor, we the jury find Precision - Accurate Melee Collisions GUILTY on all counts! Thanks for your replies. Traison, thanks for your recommendations. You were right, it was definitely a mod. I should've known, sigh. Once my character was able to move around in T pose after I forgot to update FNIS, I started checking my anim mods. Thankfully I don't have many of them. I'm just glad Precision wasn't a mod I particularly care about, although it was a neat effect. Anyway, thanks again! 1
