Confused about naked models (newbie)

Hello, I just started modding skyrim 2 days ago, and am a bit confused. When I take off the armor of dead male bandits, they are fully naked. I believe this is because of schlongs of skyrim, so that's not what I am confused about. What I am confused about is why, when I take off the armor of dead female bandits, they are in their underwear. I don't really understand this whole model naked model thing. Is one of the mods I installed supposed to make naked bodies and it is in conflict with a different mod, making them return to default model? Or I have I just not installed a mod that gives female npcs naked bodies? (I dont thinks thats the case, flower girls has naked NPCs I believe). I am currently just enjoying the game without any sexual content so im in no rush for an answer.

Also a bit tangential, but any things you see that is wrong with the mod order or mod compatibility in general it would be greatly appreciated if you pointed it out. I tried to have sex once but after they got into position they just didn't move so I gave up on it. But if you don't give a shit and only help with the original request that's fine too, I'll figure it out eventually.

Thanks all! Attached is my mod list, hopefully that's how you are supposed to add them here.

Well it seems like you got cbbe and 3ba, so you'll have to consult your mod manager as for why you're not seeing what you're expecting. That, or you didn't read the installation instructions and didn't build the bodies in bodyslide.

Considering im not sure what "building the bodies in bodyslide" is, I'd say thats the issue. Thanks friend, I will look into it.

I did something, but im not sure if I did it right. Is there some big FAQ on installing multiple mods that affect characters? Like one that answers how Bijin interacts with 3ba, what npcs im changing, how to use presets, stuff like that?

My opinion is that blindly following a youtube video or faq is the wrong approach. You will run into problems that are not documented. You should learn to use your mod organizer to solve simple things like this, because there's much more challenging stuff to come.

I'll throw you some hints though:

  • meshes\actors\character\character assets\femalebody_0.nif
  • meshes\actors\character\character assets\femalebody_1.nif
  • Bijin uses custom body meshes. Paths for these you can find in the esp/esl/esm file(s) included with the mod.

Where to start?

  1. Find your game version from SkyrimSE.exe. Without this there's no point in modding, as you'll have no idea what you're modding.
  2. Get a competent mod manager. MO2 is my suggestion, Vortex is an option but I don't have anything good to say about it.
  3. Learn to use said mod manager.
    1. File conflict resultion.
    2. Mod vs plugin load order.
    3. Archive invalidation and what it means. Potentially look into BSA Browser.
    4. Understand the basics of how your mod manager installs mods. There's significant differences between MO2 and Vortex that will be relevant sooner or later.
  4. Learn to use xEdit.
    1. Plugin conflict resolution.
    2. Understand what plugin load order actually is.
    3. Understand difference between esl, esp and esm files.
  5. Understand the purpose of NifSkope.
  6. Learn to use FNIS.
  7. Install SKSE.
  8. Install your first mod and inspect its contents. If something confuses you, you may have missed something in the earlier steps. Or I forgot to mention it here.

Install Bodyslide & Outfit Studio through Mod Organizer, same way you do FNIS.  Then build the 3BA bodies in Bodyslide.  Make sure you build the nude ones.  That will free your character from underwear that she can't take off no matter how hard she tries.

Mod Organizer > Bodyslide > choose 3BA Bodies > hit the preview button > make any adjustments you want > then click batch build and select the nude body, feet, and hands.

Then go into Mod Organizer overwrite and Create Mod.  This new mod made from the overwrite files will be the body in game.

I apologize in advance if I'm telling you things you already know.

The characters probably didn't have sex because you didn't enable and register the animations in Sexlab.  They were trying to do animations they didn't have, so they stood there.  You enable and register animations in the MCM menu.  ESC > System > Mod Configuration > Sexlab > Toggle Animations (make  sure the ones you want have an X).  Then Sexlab > Rebuild & Clean > Reset Animation Registry.

You have some SLAL packs in your mod list.  Go to ESC > System  > Mod Configuration > SLAL (wait for it to load it takes a little) > click on the pack you want to enable > click enable all then unclick the anims you don't want > then click Register.  Then sexlab will be aware of the animations and use them in scenes.

If your characters weren't standing in a T pose, FNIS is probably ok.

I see you have Bodyslide in your mod list. Run it through Mod Organizer before the playthrough to create the body models you want (Build or Batch Build button)  Then, do it again to create the clothing/armor body models, so the character's clothed body shape matches the character's nekkid body shape.

One thing I saw in your mod list is that you have some body mods 3BA and Touched By Dibella that will conflict if you have them both activated.  Whichever one is lowest in the load order will overwrite the other (this holds true for the great majority of mods).  For example if you create the bodies for 3BA in bodyside, but Touched By Dibella is lower in the load order, then the default Touched By Dibella body models will overwrite the body models you created for 3BA.
