plutocene Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 I have this weird issue were chest and tigh/belt armor parts suddenly swap each other when equipped. This inconsistently affects different armor mods. It used to work and then suddenly equipping either of these two parts forces the other one off. I did not change any settings or changed the load order. In Devious Devices, the hide armor part option is off. I also tried to edit the armor slots of certain parts with Sseedit and CK to no avail. Any ideas?

Any ideas? You can't just edit the armor slot in xEdit or CK. The NIF file has to be edited as well, using Nifskope. Basically the armor's mesh file (nif) and armor record (xEdit/CK) have to agree. Even then it may cause something to turn invisible or unequip other things. Bethesda's implementation of equipment slots is haphazard and inconsistent at the best of times. They only really planned for 6 pieces of armor (head, body, hands, feet, necklace, ring), and as long as those worked they were happy.
plutocene Posted January 10, 2023 Author Posted January 10, 2023 (edited) Right, forgot to mention that I edited the slot in outfit studio too. Edit: I found the issue, SOS is also occupying slot 52 thus, it conflicts with armor parts that use this slot. Setting the armor part to revealing in sos fixes the issue.
