Unsure what to do with this crash log

The crash occured in RaceMenu (skee64). Most likely because of Gerdur 0x00013489, modified by "Smashed Patch.esp".

meshes\armor\stormcloaks\cuirasssleeved.tri may have been involved, so potentially a morph issue. Also may want to check the correct mod overrides Gerdur's skeleton_female.nif file. Personally I'd say the only correct mod here is XPMSE.

If none of that helps, the next suspect is a spell though I don't know which. po3_Tweaks.dll ReapplySpellsOnLoad is in the stack, which could be a hint. Also may want to look into po3_SpellPerkItemDistributor, and what kind of mods you have that use it. For some reason I seem to recall DeadlySpellImpacts having issues (only know I've removed it long ago for some reason).

Ok, I feel like I"m only capable of understanding a fraction of your big words.

However, I looked in xEdit and under NPCs, Gerdur is modified by the Smashed Patch but 00013489 doesn't seem to be involved in that record.  I did a search for 00013489 and the only reference is under Cell/Block 1/Sub-Block 9/000133C7/Persistent/00013489 Placed NPC (EditorID GerdurREF, Name Gerdur "Gerdur" [NPC_:0001347C], but that record does not seem to be modified by Smashed Patch.

Can I see what's overwriting Gerdur's skeleton_female.nif in xEdit or do I need to look somewhere else?  I've looked at at and don't see and references to that in her Non-Player Character records.

Edit:  This fairly close to the beginning of the game and as far I know, there was no Stormcloak outfit present.  I Hadvar was in town, not Rolf (sp?).  When I crashed, I had a recent save, and took the same path into town.... no crash.  I think this is what throws me the most in trying to figure this stuff out.  I get a crash which doesn't seem to be replicated.  For example, the last post where I had a crash that was likely caused by Skryim Sewers, instead of deleting the NAV Mesh, I went back to the jail section of Dragonsreach and could not get the crash to replicate.  Does the same problem only cause crashes sometimes as opposed to every time?

0001347C is most likely Gerdur's actor, placed in the world. This is probably a reference to the NPC_ record that belongs to Gerdur. Regardless, the issue is most likely in everything related to Gerdur. Meshes, textures, effects, spells, sounds, eyeballs, tongue, clothes, weapons, skeleton, yougettheidea.

As for finding Gerdur's skeleton, you'd have to find Gerdur's NPC_ record and from there her RACE record. This should be the one that defines which body mesh is used, as well as which skeleton is used.

Edit: ...and once you have the skeleton file name and path you need to query your mod manager for potential conflicts on that specific file.

When it comes to debugging, its the seemingly random ones that are the most difficult ones. Sometimes only because of the time it takes to re-test. This can be demoralizing in worst cases. For these it tends to be easier to break things instead of trying to fix them. What I mean by that is, focus on getting the crash to occur reliably and on-demand. Most of the time the solution is very easy to find after that.

OK.  So in xEdit, I'm looking at the Smashed Patch and and found the Race record for Gerdur.  The columns in order are; Skyrim.esm, USSEP, AI Overhaul, CS_Gerdur.esp (Coldsun's Pantheon), and then the Smashed Patch.  Across all of them the Race field has NordRace "Nord" [Race:00013746].   The Smashed Patch does not seem to change anything.

It is likely that Coldsun is causing an issue?  I really hate looking at ugly vanilla NPCs.  This is the second one I've tried (Modpocolypse being the first, and I"m pretty certain that was causing problems).  I'm wondering if NPC apperance mods in general are just plain problematic.

I use Vortex (and I know you don't) and unsure how to query for conflicts other than to establish order by looking at my Wryebash mod list.

Compared to what? If compared to Skyrim.esm (as in, it's an ITM record) then that could be causing a conflict with CS_Gerdur and the other mods. If compared to CS_Gerdur then that to me seems like you created a merged patch containing CS_Gerdur, but left CS_Gerdur in your load order. While I don't use automatic merged patches myself, my understanding is that whether you use it to save plugin space or resolve plugin conflicts, you should disable the original plugins after enabling the patch.

Generally though, the list of mods you see affecting Gerdur's records are on the suspect list. Gather more information if you want, otherwise you can start disabling mods until the problem goes away.

I don't think Smash merges mods... it's just a conflict resolution in this case.  That's my understanding anyway (which I get may be very flawed).  But what I meant was all the columns had the exact same race entry... so Smashed Patch doesn't seem to change anything from Skyrim.esm, Coldsun, or any of them.

Took your advice and got rid of Spell Impacts.  Also eliminated Book of CBBE/3BA because I was thinking that might have accounted for the Stormcloak outfit.  I saw negatives about Weapons Armor Clothing and Clutter Fixes so I got rid of that after seeing all it's tendrils throughout all the plugins.  Also got rid of the Smashed Patch and went back to Bashed Patch.  All in all, seems to be working w no crashes over 6 hours or so of play.
