Mesh causes crash to desktop, how do I fix it?

Hiya!

I am trying to update a few of the clothing items from this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/44808/

However when I try to test one of the meshes in-game, the game crashes as soon as I equip the item. It only happens with one single of the meshes (the one for the gold skirt). I'd still like to use it so I opened it up in NifScope to see if I could find any obvious errors, but no luck.

Have any of you encountered a similar problem? Do you know what could be a likely culprit? Is there anything I could test to determine what is causing the issue?

Friendly regards

Just looking at it quickly I don't see anything in nifskpope that stands out or looks wrong but these meshes are 10 years old so who knows.

It could be weight 0/1 files not made correctly so you could test with your character at weight 0 then 1 to see if crashes on both.

If you have Outfit studio you could drag and drop the "0" mesh into main window and then file > export > to nif, repeat for "1" mesh and see if that cleans up whatever is wrong with it, assuming there is anything wrong at all.

Im not running LE, I am running SSE 1.59, when I tested initially, I got red triangle but no CTD, red triangle most likely cause is it's a LE mesh but after running thru OS it works fine.

Hey, thanks for your help! I tried what you suggested but it did not fix anything. Then I remembered that the mod had a patch that you could download along with it (which I had done). The fact that the mesh worked fine for you made me suspicious, so I tried the mod without the patch and the mesh was fine! So, I wouldn't have figured it out without you :P

Cool, glad you got it sorted out!
