Sarcyn
So, I plan to make a custom follower to fight alongside a character of mine but I want to know if it is possible to scale them down a bit in height, make them look to be at about a scale of 0.8 instead of 1. I know its possible to scale down a PC with ECEE but I don't know if it is possible to do that to an NPC in the Creation Kit or not. And if it is, how would I go about it? Link to comment
Bootaka
You can do it in the CK, TESSEDIT, the console, or NifSkope. NifSkope being the hardest and most involved, but the best option. If you want to spend hours doing math and changing proportions. You also have to define a custom skeleton location for it to work. CK the TESSEDIT are basicly the same, open up an ESP, find Height, scale, save. The console works too, but initial loading can show you a visual glitch while it scales after load, hardly noticable durng gameplay. Find your NPCs id either by opening the console and typing "help name", or face your target and click on them with the console open and type "setscale 1". .5 is half scale, 2 is double with 1/10 or 1/100 incriments But there is one problem when you "scale" an NPC with the console in game, more than their height is scaled, this includes their dmg. If the changes are minor enough, its not a problem, but say you scaled your NPC from 1 to 1.5, the NPC now does 50% more dmg Link to comment
Sarcyn
Well, I've had mixed results in this. I have indeed managed to create an NPC who is smaller than the average NPC. The trouble is, the scale on the CK seems to differ from the one on ECEE. So while my character's height is at -0.2 on ECEE, that doesn't translate to a scale of 0.8 on the vanilla scale... The other problem is, I created an NPC who sits around in a bar all day, not a follower. I'm looking into seeing if its the Relationships that I got wrong, or the factions. But still, better than a total failure. Edit: The factions LOOK like they are correct. CurrentFollowerFaction -1 PotentialFollowerFaction 0 PotentialMarriageFaction 0 And the Relationship looks fine too, the Parent is the follower, the Child is set to Player and the Rank is Ally. So I don't know what could be the problem here. Link to comment
