Only single weight sliders in Bodyslide

Recommended Posts

I've been setting up a fresh install of Fallout 4 and a collection of mods, but when I open Bodyslide I only have a single set of sliders available to me. I'm used to seeing the Low Weight and High Weight sliders, but now I only see one set called Single Weight. I'm not sure where things went wrong here.

Sorry for the necro but can someone explain this to me? How do you define what low weight and high weight npc's look like if there's only single weight in bodyslider?

Low and high weight only applies to Skyrim. Fallout 4 uses the body triangle instead, indivdual body proportions are definded from the plugin.

Body triangle? Plugin? So if I want to create a small tiddy small weight and big tiddy big weight bodyslide preset and use that, how does that happen now? Thanks.

If you'd played Fallout 4 you'd know what I mean by body triangle. If you've played Skyrim and don't know what a plugin is ...

I don't know why you are so caught up on low and high weight, those are only for Skyrim. Fallout 4 only has a single weight slider. If you want to create a bodyslide preset, you'd do it via bodyslide obviously.

Done all that still don't know what you mean. Why am I so caught up? Because the game has different sizes of npc's but bodyslide only lets me set up one size. Simple as that.

Because you only need the one size ... That is how it works in Fallout 4, an NPC's weight is set in the plugin (the esm/esp/esl file from the base game or a mod that has NPCs.) Just make your bodyslide preset in bodyslide, build the body with morphs and you're done! Simple as that!

I thank you for your patience at this point - so how do I do what I want? Make the skinny npc's have big arms and the fat npc's have big legs for an example?

No problem, in bodyslide build the body of your choice (cbbe/fusion girl etc) with zero sliders. It'll be under the preset option. An NPC's body will still be defined by the plugin, but with a zero sliders preset and body morphs, the body and clothes/armour should still reflect their body weight.

Oooooookkaaaaayyy now I get it, so the plugin is like a second bodyslider that starts messing with the body from the starting point you define at bodyslide?

Thanks, hopefully this will be useful to the next idiot who finds this with google like I did.

Not really, the plugin simply contains all the information about an NPC, ranging from their stats and behaviour, to their appearance etc. Bodyslide is seperate from that, I think. You're welcome though.

Hey, I'm the next idiot. Were you able to grasp how this works? Do we have any control over body shape boundaries via BodySlide, or are bodies always just going to be shifted away from the BodySlide preset via some obscure formula related to the triangle?

Depends on if you are talking about NPCs or the player. For NPCs it'll be mostly, unless a person uses bodygen to give an NPC a particular bodyslide preset.

For the player, there will be full control over the body. As long as the weight triangle matches that of the bodyslide preset you want for your character, it should look the same as the preset. Or you can use looksmenu and it's body sliders to tweak the body to your liking or to match the bodyslide preset.
