I have a problem with slave companions that randomly stop following and are not

responding to a Talk request, selecting Follow or Talk has no effect

 

Is there any way to reset the slave?

I forgot that I asked this years ago, I have since leaned through trial and error and accident what is going on. If the follower slave is a raider, they have a behavior of getting spooked and firing their guns in random directions, which can cause problems with settlers and other NPCs, so I would often disarm them or give them a melee weapon, the trouble is the same if they have no ammo, they can't complete the random shooting at shadows script and they will become stuck and stop responding, this seems to effect both the trigger happy slave and any others who are also raiders as they all go on alert/agro when this happens.

 

So for slaves who are followers, make sure they have a gun and ammo, preferably not a double barrel shotgun.
