justblue22 Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 (edited) Is anyone aware of a mod or configuration that will cap speed bonus/malus to certain values? i.e. between 10% and 300% or something. This is probably another "too many mods at once" problem, but after making gradual changes I've started noticing that my character randomly goes into hyperspeed. It's usually for a few seconds at a time, and appears to be when multiple things would act on speed penalty at once (barefoot, ankles bound, hobble skirt for example). I'm assuming the problem is that it's becoming negative. Has anyone run into this and solved it already? Edited December 15, 2022 by justblue22

Lupine make SexLab Disparity with the intention of solve that problem and other similar problems. I tested it time ago but only works sometimes. Is better than nothing but is not enougth realiable for me. I have my own mod that control player speed but is private and i can't publish it now. Edited December 16, 2022 by alex77r4

It looks like SLD doesn't currently control movement speed applied by other mods (according to the FAQ page) but it does explain how it works / how to turn it off in other mods, so this gives me an angle to experiment with. I appreciate it One thing I'm thinking too is that the scripting engine is backlogged, so it's not applying the speed values correctly and that's why it's intermittent. For a bit updates were really unresponsive, like trying to struggle out of something would take minutes to play an animation. I had noticed early in this playthrough that something (probably SexLab-Survival) is sending Esc repeatedly, which was triggering other mods nonstop. I moved all the keybinds off Esc but I might not have really solved the problem, only hidden it... I think I have to turn the feature off. Anyway, I'll report back if I figure it out. Really appreciated.

A normal problem when modding Skyrim is the gigantic amount of mods we have. Many of them have requirements and it is mandatory to install it. But, in addition, it has a lot of soft dependency mods and everyone is tempted to install ALL soft dependency mods and all mods that look good. But that's the worst we can do. If you install 50 or 100 mods in a group, you can't know what each mod does and where the problems come from. You need to be aware of every mod you install and know what made. You can then determine if that exact mod changes movement speed and may be causing your problem. Many times it is a simple case of self-control. If you are out of control I recomend remove mods and start a New Game with less mods to discover what mod is causing the problem. Edited December 16, 2022 by alex77r4
justblue22 Posted December 17, 2022 Author Posted December 17, 2022 I've figured out the "what", I just can't figure out the "why". Other things seem to be contributing to it, but mainly what seems to be happening is that every time I draw and sheathe a weapon, I get a small boost of speed. This also appears to happen in vanilla, so I don't think it's a specific mod causing it by itself. What doesn't happen in vanilla is that that boost of speed is somehow quadratic, probably due to a mod being applied against it each time too. So the end result is that sheathing a weapon gets me to a perm speedmult in tens of thousands within a few hours of play. I've disabled every speed-related effect in every MCM and the problem is still happening, so I really can't get my head around it. I'm sure something is still acting on my speed though, since equipping, say, pony boots will slow me down.
